Christian Slater In 'Alone In The Dark' Game Adaptation

Christian Slater is to star as supernatural detective Edward Carnby in Artisan Entertainment's Alone in the Dark, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The movie will be based on the video game franchise.

The project has a $20 million film budget and will be released next year in conjunction with a new video game from Atari (formerly Infogrames), the fifth in the best-selling game franchise.

Filming will take place in Vancouver and is scheduled to begin July 14 and run through Sept. 2.
