Jackie Chan Talks 'Around The World In 80 Days'

Jackie ChanJackie Chan, who stars in the upcoming Around the World in 80 Days, says he won't be basing his character from the 1956 movie of the same name. "After I know I'm making that movie again, I see it again," Chan told Sci-Fi Wire. "But I would see it very fast, on fast-forward. I wanted to see the whole look, but I don't want to get into it. I want to forget everything. I want it totally new."

Chan says he was able to choreograph his own fight scenes in the movie. "I know how far I can go, and there are so many tricks to help me," Chan said. "Right now, I probably cannot do the jumping turning kick. But you push me back, and then I can take two steps and do the jumping kick. But you don't know on the screen. I have to use those kinds of things to do a lot of action things, but I love action. Because I don't think the audience likes to see Jackie Chan slow motion on the beach kissing Sharon Stone. They don't like that. So I do action/comedy." Around the World in 80 Days opens June 16.
