Sony Classics Takes On 'Brick Lane'

Sony Pictures Classics has acquired rights in North and South America to "Brick Lane," the film adaptation of the 2003 novel.
Written by Monica Ali, the book centers on a Bangladeshi family living in the U.K., exploring the British immigrant experience. It was shortlisted for the 2003 Man Booker Prize for Fiction, and Ali was named by Granta magazine as one of 20 young British novelists of that year.
