The session between Mick, a nihilistic New York hitman, and an expensive call girl is interrupted by the entrance of his friend and assistant, Archie, who has just returned from exile in Florida, after bungling the job Mick just had to finish. As Mick gets rid of the girl, his employer George turns up. After raging at the cowering Archie, George announces apologetically to Mick that he needs the use of his services this very night to kill a certain woman, a woman who inexplicably is expecting him--and is willing to be murdered. Mick finds himself falling hard for this particular victim, the enigmatic Fiona. As Mick struggles with the unfamiliar sensations of love, he reveals his doubts about killing this woman to George. In turn, George confides she must be killed tonight--that his own life will be in jeopardy is she does not die.
