Disk Quality Issues - Rating: 1/5
Obviously I love everything about this band and the series of dvd's BUT I bought 2 copies (one for me and one as a gift) and both have a HUGE audio problem. Basically sound volume fluctuates throughout the DVD. Another friend has this DVD with no issues. I just want you tonot be surprised if you need to exchange it for a new one...looks like some bad manufacturing out there.
Great dvd - Rating: 5/5
The highlights here are the first dvd and Behind The Iron Curtain in the second dvd. The sound of the first dvd Live After Death is excellent especially during the solos. Dave and Adrian were really great in their blasting solos. It's good to be true, nowadays Maiden would never get this perfect sound anymore due to Janick's inability to play good solos to compliment the great work of Dave and Adrian
Up the irons - Rating: 5/5
The only way it could be better would be if it were in widescreen, but it was not filmed that way.
A Must Have for every Iron Maiden Fan! - Rating: 5/5
Having owned the original on VHS, I was hesitant to buy it again on DVD. However I am exceedingly glad that I did. The video/audio quality are greatly improved, and the bonus features are definitely worthwhile and not just filler like on some concert videos I've seen. In addition perhaps my memory is faulty but there were a few bits of dialog from Bruce during the show that I don't remember in the original video that made me laugh out loud. Great stuff and highly recommended!
Finally On DVD - Rating: 4/5
When I was a teenager I used to have the VHS tape of this, but over the years I lost it. I'm glad that they finally released it on DVD. It's as good as I remember it to be, especially the epic "Rhyme Of The Ancient Mariner". This concert depicts Maiden at the height of their popularity back in the mid '80's. I know they are on tour right now and think it's a shame that they aren't coming to my neck of the woods. This concert footage shows why Maiden are still to this day one of the best live acts around. My only gripe with this release was it isn't in anamorphic widescreen. I recommend this whole heartedly to anyone who wants to see a band give 110% and never sold out. Up The Irons!
