Bump! Massachusetts
Provincetown, Boston, Northampton
Bump!, the world's first and most-watched gay and lesbian travel television series is being brought to DVD internationally by Alluvial Filmworks. Join sexy gay soap star Charlie David, acclaimed lesbian playwright Shannon McDonough, and model J.R. Anderson as they take you on a trip around the world to the best gay and lesbian hotspots and vacation destinations, all without ever leaving your couch.
Provincetown
Sitting on the Northern tip of Cape Code we find America's preeminent queer oceanfront playground, P-Town. After a quick debrief with the local tourism folks, Shannon decides to take in all of the surrounding natural beauty of the seashore with Art's Dune Tours where she dines on an authentic seaside clam bake. Back in town it's off to Boat Slips Cape Cod's largest party venue to get down at the Sunday afternoon tea-dance, a ritual since the early 1900's! A couple of hurricane cocktails later, Shannon is off shopping for everything from ribbed dildos to fine art! We visit the studio of local renowned artist Oren Sherman and check out some of his most recent works. Time for a rest, Shannon tours some accommodation options: from five star to the more budget conscious, P-Town has a lot to offer. Finally, it's time to chow-down at some of the long established eateries before taking in a night of lesbian stand-up at Vixen.
Boston
It's all aboard Bump! for a queer tour of Boston: both on foot and afloat. Join Shannon as she not only rides, but pilots the amphibious Duck Tour boat for a unique perspective on Boston from land and sea. Further testing Shannon's sea-legs, it's off on a private charter of Boston Harbor with members of the Yankee Cruising Club, one of several exclusively gay sailing clubs in the area. Back on land, Shannon visits two local lesbian publications Bay Window and South End News to get caught-up on all the news in queer Boston. From there it's a walking tour of the predominantly gay south-end's Tremont Street with WFNX-FM radio host Keith Orr. Finally it's back to the B&B to rest our feet before chowing-down on some local fare and catching a drag show at Jacque's where we meet Chris Knevel, a long-standing drag queen in residence.
Northampton
A city of only 30,000 located two hours from Boston in the Berkshires, Northampton is small-town America at its queer best. Shannon starts off the day as many queers in the region do, with lesbian Kelsey Flynn's radio talk show. Then it's off to chat with Mary Claire Higgins who happens to be a lesbian and the mayor of Northampton. We'll learn about the history of town before heading out to see it first hand. After fueling-up at renowned pancake house Sylvester's it's off to shop, shop, shop. We hit Pride And Joy a one-stop shop for all your gay paraphernalia from books to sex toys. Shannon hits a few more queer-friendly retailers and galleries before stopping by Herrell's Ice Cream where she learns first hand, the art of schmoozing. Then it's a quick visit to Smith College, a renowned all-girls college before hitting some local restaurants and a late night visit to dance club, Diva's, and an interview with lesbian owners, Lori and Jen.
