Could go either way - Rating: 3/5

Originally I planned on buying this as soon as it came out. This will be a great product if they keep all the chris benoit footage in. Otherwise the last seven or so summerslams will be chopped up and not be worth owning. I just hope that they leave this footage in, otherwise I will not even think about purchasing this set.

Summerslam corrections - Rating: 3/5

Just to clarify the erroneous information shared by the first two reviewers, the WWF does indeed own the rights and is legally permitted to use the original WWF logo. It is the scratched "attitude" era logo that must be blurred out.

Also, there are 20 discs in this collection, not more. Summerslams 1988-2007 are 20 events.

Could be a great anthology; only time will tell.... - Rating: 5/5

This could be a terrific anthology collection, pending wwe corrects the defencies from their previous anthology's that were released. If they can get the rights to wrestlers theme music and come up with a better packaging idea, then this could be awesome. I was glad to hear that they were going to leave the Chris Beniot matches in the respective SummerSlam events. I don't agree with what he did but to take his matches of the card could damage the ppv's in general. (SummerSlam 2004 for example). Also, getting the World Wildlife Fund to cut Vince a break on the usage of the original logo for the first 14 or so SummerSlam's wouldn't be a bad thing either.

"Feel The Heat" to "Hart & Soul" to "Highway To Hell" to "The Biggest Party Of The Summer" - Rating: 5/5

SummerSlam is one of WWF/E's original "Big Four" PPV's that is anticipated each & every year & here's the collection of each one. Now the big question here is weather Chris Benoit's matches will be included due to the events surrounding his death. It's been reported that his matches will NOT BE REMOVED & are included in this set but his name will not be advertised on the set itself. Here are some standout & highlight matches from each year.

1988 - Mega Powers vs. Dibiase & Andre with an ending involving Elizabeth that had everyone shocked & every man drooling, Demolition vs. Hart Foundation, Ultimate Warrior vs. I.C. Champion Honky Tonk Man.

1989 - Hogan & Beefcake vs. Savage & Zues, Brain Busters vs. Hart Foundation, Ultimate Warrior vs. I.C. Champion Rick Rude.

1990 - Ultimate Warrior vs. Rick Rude in a steel cage for the WWE Title, Hogan vs. Earthquake, I.C. Champion Mr. Perfect vs. Texas Tornado, 2 out of 3 falls match with Tag Team Champions Demolition vs. Hart Foundation.

1991 - Hogan & Warrior vs. Sgt. Slaughter's "Triangle Of Terror" in a handicap tag match with Sid as the referee. Bret Hart vs. I.C. Champion Mr. Perfect, Legion Of Doom vs. Tag Team Champions Nasty Boys in a street fight, Big Boss Man vs. Mountie in a "Loser Spends The Night In Jail" match, Virgil vs. Million $ Champion Ted Dibiase, the last PPV appearance of Andre The Giant, Randy Savage & Elizabeth's wedding.

1992 - The second largest crowd in WWE history as British Bulldog came home to face Bret Hart for the I.C. Title and WWE Champion Randy Savage vs. Ultimate Warrior.

1993 - Lex Luger vs. WWE Champion Yokozuna, Bret Hart vs. Jerry Lawler, Shawn Michaels vs. Mr. Perfect, Ted Dibiase's last WWF match vs. Razor Ramon.

1994 - Ted Dibiase's Undertaker vs. Paul Bearer's Undertaker, the classic WWE Title/Steel Cage Match between Bret & Owen Hart, Razor Ramon vs. I.C. Champion Diesel.

1995 - The Ladder Re-Match between I.C. Champion Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon.

1996 - WWE Champion Shawn Michaels vs. Vader & Mankind vs. Undertaker in a Boiler Room Brawl.

1997 - WWE Champion Undertaker vs. Bret Hart with Shawn Michaels as the referee, I.C. Champion Owen Hart vs. Stone Cold with a piledriver that forever changed Austin's life, Mankind vs. HHH in a cage match.

1998 - WWE Champion Stone Cold vs. Undertaker, I.C. Champion The Rock vs. HHH in a Ladder Match, Ken Shamrock vs. Owen Hart in a Lion's Den match.

1999 - WWE Champion Stone Cold vs. HHH vs. Mankind with Gov. Jesse "The Body" Ventura as the referee, Undertaker & Big Show vs. Tag Team Champions Kane & X-Pac, Test vs. Shane McMahon in a street fight, Al Snow vs. Hardcore Champion Big Boss Man that ended in a bar across the street.

2000 - WWE Champion The Rock vs. HHH vs. Kurt Angle with a moment that you used to see on the "Don't Try This At Home" advertisements, Edge & Christian vs. Dudleys vs. Hardys in a the first TLC match, Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho in a 2 out 3 falls match, Steve Blackman vs. Hardcore Champion Shane McMahon who did one hell of a fall off the Titantron.

2001 - WCW Champion Booker T vs. The Rock, WWE Champion Stone Cold vs. Kurt Angle, Hardcore Champion Jeff Hardy vs. Rob Van Dam in a Ladder Match.

2002 - WWE Champion The Rock vs. Brock Lesnar, Shawn Michaels' return vs. HHH in a street fight, I.C. Champion Chris Benoit vs. RVD, Kurt Angle vs. Rey Mysterio.

2003 - The Elimination Chamber featuring World Champion HHH, Goldberg, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, Kevin Nash, Randy Orton. Kane vs. RVD in a No Holds Barred Match & WWE Champion Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar.

2004 - World Champion Chris Benoit vs. Randy Orton, WWE Champion JBL vs. Undertaker, Kurt Angle vs. Eddie Guerrero, John Cena vs. Booker T.

2005 - Hulk Hogan vs. Shawn Michaels, World Champion Batista vs. JBL in a No Holds Barred Match, WWE Champion John Cena vs. Chris Jericho, Randy Orton vs. Undertaker, Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero in a Ladder Match.

2006 - WWE Champion Edge vs. John Cena, DX vs. Vince & Shane McMahon, Ric Flair vs. Mick Foley in a "I Quit" Match, Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Orton.

2007 - WWE Champion John Cena vs. Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio returned vs. Chavo Guerrero, HHH returned vs. King Booker.

Just like the other anthologies, these are pieces of wrestling history (some events more than others) that I would recommend for those who don't already have these past SummerSlams in their collection.
