'Fantastic Four' & 'War Of The Worlds' To Clash
[Thursday, September 16th, 2004]Both Paramount Pictures and 20th Century Fox are planning to release major sci-fi movies on one of the most lucrative moviegoing weekend of the year, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Fox is set to release its Marvel Comics adaptation Fantastic Four, starring Michael Chiklis and directed by Tim Story, on Friday, July 1st, the beginning of the four-day holiday weekend.
Paramount is now hoping to open its War of the Worlds movie, based on H.G. Wells novel, starring Tom Cruise and helmed by Steven Spielberg, on June 29th. Just two days before the release of Fantastic Four.
