Derek Luke Tackles 'Friday Night Lights'

Derek Luke (Antwone Fisher) is set to tackle next role in the football squad in drama Friday Night Lights, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Peter Berg is set to direct and also in final negotiations is Lee Thompson Young, former star of Disney Channel's "The Famous Jett Jackson".

Luke would play the senior running back and captain of the football team in a gridiron-obsessed West Texas town who wrestles with his pride when he sustains an injury.

Derek Luke recently appeared in the critically acclaimed Pieces of April with Katie Holmes.
