In X-Factor, however, he was shown as having been a mutant beforehand, which is why the Secret Empire chose him for the project in the first place.
Officialy, last I checked, Kyle is a mutant who has been futher mutated by various groups, the Secret Empire, Department H, Weapon X.
Supposedly his original mutation was a bestial appearance, but in the flashbacks to before his alteration by the Secret Empire, he looks completely human...
Check out X-Factor #142 for the new version
and
Alpha Flight #118 for the original.
I hope that helps.

Welcome aboard and thanks for showing interest in Kyle. He really doesn't get the respect he deserves most of the time...

So it's not just me? His origin really is "confusing". Thanks for the answer, though. He's a great character.

You're welcome.
He also changed ages as well, in Alpha he was a young adult when he was captured, in X-Factor he was a young teenager, in fact, they listed his current age as 16, if I recall correctly...

Yeah, Kyle always gets the short end of the stick, doesn't he. He's been toe to toe with Wyre, Wolverine, Sabretooth and countless others, held his own or better, but nobody seems to respect that... except US!
Respect!

I'll have to get that Handbook... ( :

A newly upgraded Wild Child storms into Wakanda's palace and kidnapps Sabertooth. Wolverine follows the trail, and severly and I mean severly gets owned by Wild Child. His claws were poisoned and knocked Wolverine out for 2 days. Wolverine admited he was faster, and basically did nothing to Wild Child. I have no idea what happened to Wild Child, but wow.

Who is fur-face callin' a loser! That stinkin' runt!!!!
I love Kyle's new look, (He has HAIR again!!!!)
I hope he kills Creed, but I doubt it...
Thanks for the update!

Wolvie's a poor loser, and a wuss!

I posted the pic of Kyle and Logan on the Child of Darkness thread to show the Wildchild group there, I'm sorry, I should have asked, but I was excited... embarrasment I'll credit you, and, if you want, I'll take it down. I just wanted them to see what he looks like now.

It's about time he has hair, I was really starting to get annoyed with the whole "bald as can be" look. stick out tongue

Question, though, because I'm still considerably new to Wildchild (compared to you two, that is) has it ever been said that Kyle isn't related to Creed?

No I don't think so, and if he was related would make sense as in X-Factor he really wanted Wild Child to join up with him. From what I remember, I don't recall them every saying he isn't somehow related. We might get some information in Wolverine #54.

I thought it was obvious.

Judging by his appearance, powers, permiscuous taste (nipple rings?), and the trademark claws, on top of Wolverine saying the scent was like Sabertooth's and his own, AND then there's the potentially kinky name... it seemed apparent to me that Kyle is just the bastard love child of Wolverine and Sabertooth.

Am I the only one who sees this?

I used to think he was Creed's son, but in the end, no matter what evidence there is for or against, his parentage is up to the writer's whim. And when writers change, the previous writer's ideas are usually scrapped, leaving all of us confused. Marvel Comics Presents and X-Factor implied he was Creed's son, while Alpha Flight stated that he definately wasn't.

In short, even if they come out and say who his parents are, it can be retconned later as a bad dream or something, just to confuse everyone and please a writer who doesn't like the idea...

Yeh, Loeb has almost single-handedly put me off Marvel comics, the only comic (Non-Manga) I've bought recently was from Dark Horse. The 'nazi' idea has to be one of the most idiotic thing I've ever heard...

Even though I hate the fact they made him a nazi I have to agree, WC as a character was horribly portrayed in Weapon X and X-Factor. Only series that gave him justice was Alpha Flight and that was years and years ago. Now people are talking about WC and in a good way, and are wondering what the future has in store for him.
