K' gets an invitation to the KOF tournament and is told to go to NYC to battle his opponent. As usual, he brings the human tank Maxima with him as well as his extraordinary flame control and fighting skill.
First team happens to be Thing and the Human Torch (who joined to hone their own skills.) Johnny and Ben are well rested and ready to fight.
No prep for either side or outside assistance.

K' has fighting skills to beat lame Torch's ass to death. He posseses mystical flames which would be difficult for Torch to control, as well as protection form flames to some degree... The only advantages of Torch is his flight and Supernova... But wouldn't the flight away from ass-kicking be considered as self-BFR?
As for Maxima vs Thing... Maxima is weaker than Thing (even going by his best showings in HongKong NeoSun comics\manga, he's 30tonner at best (hisbest strength feat from those comics\manga is tossing a helicopter), but has better fighting skills than Thing... As well as built-in weaponry (mashineguns/miniature grenade launchers built into his arms and laser cannon in his chest) and Midnighter-like ability to analyse his opponent's moves to predict next attack. Also he has better reaction than Thing (but NOT speed- at least not by far) and he's tactically smarter.
If Torch goes Nova, it gives him Kamikaze-style victory... If not... I'm sorry for FF guys... You need more training and less hamburger-eating.
I'd like to see Torch trying to absorb mystical flame...Not normal one he's used to, but a sacred one...Also Torch has to relate on flames and nothing else, while K' can beat him hand-to-hand WITHOUT RELYING MUCH ON FLAMES(the flaming aura of Torch wouldn't be much of FACTOR).
Supernova is victory for Torch, but a)he also kills Thing in process:b)he can't go Nova instantly and if he on the ground and not 300 feet up in the air (which isn't look much like a good fight, by the way), he has just less than 5 seconds to go Nova before getting knocked out.
K' can't fly- but he can kick and punch Torch's ass with considerable skill more than 25 times in 2 seconds (Heaven Drive DM)... And also his arsenal includes than nice Blackout move- in game it's shown as teleport, actually he moves on short distance so fast, that he looks like a black blurred shadow to human eye...He's Kay DASH, after all... On land he's faster than Torch. Also Torch has NEVER studied martial arts on serious level...

As for second pair, I see Maxima being able to outsmart Thing. And I have always wondered how would Thing fare against precise, computer-aimed laser shot in his eye...
Thing is one of the strongest guys in the Marvel universe isn't he? Maxxima wouldn't be able to take him out, and there's no way in hell "k" can defeat them both.
Maxima has more ways to solve problem than just straight up brawl...Computer analysis for Thing's weak points(eyes,maybe), then some laser shoots will certaily cause Thing at least some pain.
In physical strength Thing dominates (Maxima is skilled 30tonner, but he's still 30tonner and can't compete with less skilled but MUCH stronger opponent in straight up brawl)), so Maxima has to find way to outsmart him in battle...Computer analysis+powerful built-in weaponry+being a bit tactically smarter can help a bit.
Not being a fangirl, I can say that it would eventually come down to K' vs Thing (since Thing's rock hide is really hard to damage and low100tonner can beat 30tonner in a straight up brawl)...
Thing is actually the strongest link in FF team... He has strength, durability and some fighting skills.
Unlike reskless Storm, who IMO goues down pretty fast, Thing has good chances to hold his own there...
Teamwork is not the major advantage there, since both teams are equal in this area. And K' and Maxima even have some advantages since they don't have to rely on brainiac like Reed tactically backing them up. They have to rely on themselves...
Thing has great resistance to damage- but mostly due to his rock-like skn. He actually has some weak points which can be used by good martial artists (K' is not much below Iron Fist in fighting skills) http://img18.imageshack.us/my.php?image=thing3zl.jpg
Also his isnsides are less resistant than his skin (if I'm not mistaken) and some powerful fireballs down tis throat may do the job.
The question is whether Thing's durability and strenght advantage is enough to not to be overwhelmed by those means.
In the KOF 2003 comic, K' was showing battling Kyo and both were throw into mountains (literally cracking them or making holes in them) and still fighting flames and all.
This should be a good battle. Heat also is never good for rocks.

Actually Thing has some ridiculous durability feats...It can help... Unless there's some spots on Thing's "adaptable rock" hide, strikes in which can cause resonance and eventually pain, rock monster can take victory...
Surviving nukes and Dr Dooms "absolute destruction rays" without scratches can help against this... (please log in to view the image) (please log in to view the image)
But- if K' manages to damage Thing's insides (fireball to the thoat or something like that)- it's victory... And as for Torch- K' can and would kick his ass without serious troubles... Thing is the real problem there...
