watched the first 15 minutes o the movie and it sucked big time. turned it of. dont know what u like so much bout it.

no. i'll tell u. may b this is the reason y. coz i watched the first 15 minutes. they really didnt make sense 2 me( the first movie). i also had the recruit with me. so i watched xmen first with high expectations. nuthin much happened. so i just changed the movie. did it get better after that OR were the first 15 minutes THE HIGHLIGHT of the movie. coz if its true then i may b right

well the first 15 minutes shows a young Magneto and how he became into how he is when the movies goes on. keeping that in his memory he thought all humans(home sapiens) disliked everyone who were different.

Well if you no nothing about the x-men it does help if you watch the entire movie. I guess in the 1st 15m you learn who the characters are and what they can do.

If you had great expectations, it's normal that the first 15 mins. disappoint you...As the first movie, it had to introduce the characters and the main themes...
I would advise you to watch the entire movie, just to completely make up your mind about it... Then you could explain us your opinion, which is always interesting.

You have to really watch the movie. Maybe you're not a fan of the comic, but you can't just give up within 15 minutes... I thought the 2nd movie was bad, then after a while, it was the greatest!

Yes,but X2 actually makes the 1st a better movie. I suggest you watch the 1st then the 2nd then the 1st again. Its wierd but in my case it actually made the 1st movie better.

Alic88, if you really don't want to see it in his entirety, just don't see it...We're not gonna force you...When you post in the X-men section, you must expect that many x-men fans answer you. My point is that you cannot say it sucks after you only saw the first 15 minutes... (Actually you can, but we tell you that the whole movie is not exactly like the first 15 mins)... If you expected more action, maybe the second one will be better for you...but if you know nothing about the X-men...

If you wanted to debate about the movie itself, you should have post this in the movie discussion section.

I dont have a DVD but I've rented the movie a few times and I always watch it in continuos sessions
Once I rented and was watching it at night. Started at around 00h and watched and watched next thing I know my mum opens the door to the living room...it was already 7 am

I never saw X-Men until it was out on video for 6 months.

But I saw X2 in theaters, and I had a chance to see it again last week, because the casino we were staying at had PPV's of movies that are still in theaters or haven't come to video yet.

And they had X2!!!

But by the time we decided to watch a movie, it was time to go to bed for the long drive the next day, so I didn't get to see it.

I'd love to see it again though.

alic*- I suggest waiting til after X2 is on video before watching X-Men, then when you get the chance watch them back to back.

You'll truly understand them both then.

I have watched the 2nd movie twice (I am waiting for the DVD, hopefully, only 2 months to wait ) and I stop counting for the 1st one after the 50th time !!!!
And now, I buy all the movies with Hugh, I loved Kate & Leopold and Swordfish was cool Sorry for the OT

I watched X2 two times.... the first one was on April 29th... it was a pre-premiere... and the 2nd time I saw it in spanish version..... and I bought it.... and I have it..... so I can watch it everytime I want.... bad quality of course.... but I had to buy it while I wait for the dvd...

X2 will be available on DVD on october the 30th in France and on november the 25th in the USA, I don't know for other countries ???
Yeap, K&L is a good movie, very funny and sentimental and Hugh is so yummy in it

Magneto hates humans for the crimes that they have commited against him like in that scene. this scene also shows how his powers manifested at a young age thus will make him a powerful mutant.

I hate that about Magneto... but then where would XMen be without a villianous character... hehe

alic, you'll have to be a little more specific on what you want to know about the X-Men. Right now, I can only answer generally.

In the near future, manifestations of humans with amazing gifts are becoming quite apparent to the world. These humans are referred to as mutants, with their gifts usually manifesting at puberty. The gifts are just as varied as the people. People can walk through walls, fire bolts of energy from their eyes, control weather, read minds, etc. However, this has much of the regular human population in a panic, fearing that there would be too many people who would abuse this power for their own ends. To combat this, the US Senate is attempting to pass a Mutant Registration Act, which will force all people who possess mutant-powers to register this fact with the government, under harsh penalties for failure to do so. Mutants, however, are afraid of this since many meet fear and/or violence from humans when they have been identified.

Enter Charles Xavier. Xavier is possibly the most powerful mutant on the planet. He can control people's minds, making them think or do whatever he wants them to. However, he believes that with understanding and tolerance, mutants and humans can coexist in harmony. But he is aware that many humans and mutants do not believe as he does. So he has set up the X-Men, a group of mutants who often come from his 'School for Gifted Youngsters' (which is actually a safe haven for mutant kids). Their purpose is to safeguard both mutant and human lives from violent forces on both sides of the fence.

Not all mutants see as Xavier does, however. Erik Lensherr (aka Magneto) is the chief mutant opponent of Xavier (and they are actually old friends). A survivor of the Holocaust, Magneto has seen human racial hate at its darkest, and fully believes that humans and mutants will never coexist, and he definitely doesn't want mutants to be the losers in a coming war. He has set up his own group of mutants in order to set his own plans of mutant superiority in motion.

Beyond that, I can't get into much without getting into some pretty detailed specifics. I, like many here, strongly urge you to give the movies a chance. The first does start off pretty slow, but it needs the time to introduce all the main characters at a fair speed, because there is a HUGE amount of info to reveal. And yes, X2 is (in my opinion) better than the first movie. It doesn't have to stop you and introduce a bunch of info so you'll understand the setting. It is much more smoothly paced than the first movie.

Unlike most super-hero movies, X-Men is more about the GROUPS, not one individual taking on a single villain. Another thing is that Bryan Singer (the director) has said that the first two movies serve more as trailers for the upcoming third movie.

yup i saw xmen. the movie was good. i thought there was a bit 2 much of storyline than action. but thats my thought. a good movie. i expected it 2 do better though. but still, not that i m crazy bout it. i'd give it a 7.5/10.

Just wait til you see X2, not as much story, and a lot more action.

alic it sounds like you need to get a more intellecual stand on movies you said the movie had to much of a storyline than action. There really wasnt much of a storyline in x-men and its because of you why we have garbage like SWAT and 2 fast 2 furious

Some parts of X-Men suck... E.g ~Anna Pacquinn. I think Beyonce Knowles would make a more convincing Storm then Halle Berry...

I agree with Kes she was horrible in Goldmember and thats a comedy so thats pretty sad, she was also in Carmen that showed on MTV and she was pretty bad in that to but at least that required more singing less acting. I personally like Halle as storm but iv gotta agree with Nivvy that i dont think Anna is a good Rogue, Great actress but just not a good rogue
