Supa
It's so hot today, I feel like my parts (the original ones, the spares are an expensive alloy) are threatening to just melt off my construct and dribble down under the carpeting here at work.. Someone push the "Fastest speed ever possible" button on the fan!

eek!

Supa

finti
warp speed. roll eyes (sarcastic)

Ushgarak
What IS it with Europe right now? I can barely breath here, and meanwhile my room is slowly filling with sweat. I know SOMEONE whi is loving it, but precious few others...

razman
Ush, maybe its do to with Global Warming wink

But yeah, it has been HOT lately!

Gundark
We've been having an unusally cool fourth of july holiday over here. We were in the neighbor's pool yesterday afternoon for a couple hours, then late in the day we got heavy rain and the temp dropped about 10 degrees. But it was only around 80 to start with. But I don't mind the heat. I hate winter.

Breetai
*distractedly* Yes, yes, that's all very nice. Be sure to clean up after yourself... stick out tongue

BTW, it's hot where I'm at in the States, too. In between fits of rain, that is...

Ushgarak
Global Warming? My God, he's right!

Breetai
I'm a winter person, so I'm always uncomfortably hot in the sauna that's called DC. However, it has been a bit cooler due to the recent rains.

ratcat
But you just know that come the weekend when us working people can actually go out and enjoy it, the rains will poor!

queeq
Great. More humidity in this heat.

finti
oh great no air condition and 31 degrees celius and rising-"Hot, hot, hotter than hell"- Kiss

queeq
"I'm dreaming of a white Christmas."- Bing Crosby.

finti
you sure you`re not dreaming of Bing Crosby laughing out loud

Dim
You could do better, queeqer..go for Sinatra.. wink

I still don't understand what Europe has against AC..

finti
we have nothing against AC just dont work outside roll eyes (sarcastic) well I have vacation NOW 4 weeks of doing nothing!!!!!!!!1
"Schools out for summer, schools out forever"
- son of a preacherman

keokiswahine
It's been unmercifully hot and humid here, too, but the tradewinds finally showed up tonight, so it's cooling down to almost nice. big grin

ratcat
JUst one of those sweeping generalisations some people make...

Personally I love AC.

queeq
If I could afford it and it wouldn't look ugly on my house, I might get one myself.

ratcat
If it was hot for more than 2 weeks a year then it might be worth it.

I know I use the AC a lot in the car this last week or so.

queeq
Who said Europeans have something against AC?

queeq
You're right. It's not warme enough for AC. But in the car, now that does sound very appealing.

Supa
We drove 2x4 hrs this weekend... In a car with no AC.. windows rolled down.. still clung to the car seats!

It's cloudy now, but so frustratingly humid!!

*pant pant*

queeq
I know the feeling, although today is quite okay here. Cloudy, cool and still T-shirt weather.

finti
Rain sun rain thunder and lightning and some sun. What to wear????

queeq
Swimsuit.

Bit weird now, indeed.

finti
would be nasty if you got struck by lightning wearing a g string, or what queeq big grin

Ushgarak
Perhaps he LIVES on lightning strikes. Ask Gundy.

queeq
Well, actually I suggested the bathing suit because:

1. You're not to hot
2. Getting wet is no problem
3. You don't need an umbrella which is dangerous with lightning strrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmsmsssss............

*gotta go back to Gundy's lab for a recharge*

Texas
I have no sympathy for you people, I live in Dallas where for the past few days the temperature has been over 101 degress and with the humidity it feels like it's 107! smokin'

finti
Seeing JR latley, or have you had a chat with Walker. rolling on floor laughing

Jameous Woodshire
Supa, I knew, I was kidding ya. wink

Finii, if he met Walker, I need to hang out with him! (even though Walker Texas Ranger) has been canceled.

And I lived in Texas in 1980 when the records were set. 113 real temp in the SHADE! we could fry eggs on the sidewalk. (it took longer than a skillet, but it worked). So I dont have much sympathy for newbies to heat adjustment. But I also dont expect anyone from a cold area to have sympathy for me when I'm freezing.

Anyway, can you (Texas) get me a job with J.R.? ( stick out tongue finti)

queeq
What's this with Texas lately?

finti
Self realisation I think.

queeq
Ya think?

Texas
No offense to Walker Texas Ranger fans, but that show is so cheesy! Its just embarassing to us Dallasites! In almost every episode Chuck Norris is seen fighting mafia gangsters, racist hicks, nuclear terrorists, IRA radicals, death cults, the list is just endless! It's ridiculous, nothing remotely close to that occurs in Dallas, it's so stupid.....Oh, and then his wife Alex is like kidnapped in every episode, you would think that she would learn to defend herself or carry some mace or something....Oh, just for the record, I got to meet J.R. (larry hagman) in person once, he was at Neiman Marcus downtown for some charity thing and I got to shake his hand.....I hope your all jealous now evil face

Jameous Woodshire
I dont know what Queeg and finti are talking about. So I have alot of experance with Texas (the state). I was just replying to all the posts from before. roll eyes (sarcastic)

I dont even know Texas the poster.

I also agree with Texas about Walker. The same thing happened when Dallas was out. Everyone thought there were oil wells in everyones backyards. Both shows are probbaly as accurate a view as we get of England from any Britcom. (I got to hang out with a Penthouse Pet for a week so I'm not jealous about J.R. wink )

I am here to talk about Star Wars and then if anything else comes up, I'll post on that too.

Please explain this 'self realisation' you speak of.

Also is this the way you treat all your guests or just the ones that live in the U.S.? evil face roll eyes (sarcastic) smokin'

keokiswahine
*walks in slurping on a rainbow flavored snow cone*

What's up, everyone? Been kinda busy at the office, and watching the tonyf fiasco in the JC. smokin' smokin' smokin'

Texas
Speaking of Britcoms, I love Keeping Up Appearances and Are You Being Served?, but that Dr. Who Show and Red Dwarf freak me out....Theres just something strange about an Alien species speaking with a British accent....Oh, and I am not the least jealous about your Penthouse Pet, Larry Hagman can look pretty sexy too, those wrinkles, age and liver spots, he's the only man on this planet who could turn me gay....(Oh god that was disgusting, I'm not serious people...damn, let me get that image out of my head)....Wow, how did you get to spend a whole week with a Penthouse Pet?, Did you kidnapp her?, Ha, just kidding! big grin

Jameous Woodshire
OMG! That was soo funny! laughing out loud

I worked with her on a movie. Her name is Julie Strain and she was Pet of the year in 94 or something like that. I had my choice of jobs, so I chose driver. wink We sometimes hung out in her hotel waiting for the next set call. (Nothing happened, Darn! sad ) but she was cool to be around. None of the phoney Hollywood attitude that some other actors I've met had.

BTW when we filmed that flick, it was around 115 heat index all week. Most of our shots were done inside or early in the morning thankfully.

freeq
sad

115? She must have been sweating a lot. wink

zereil
It always appear whilst in England where ever I go it is the perfect climate for Vampires. The skky is always so clouded over that there is no way near enough sun shine to present any danger. Anyway what movies have you done? I'm interested I act a bit but not as a career I did a play version of the Breakfast club recently. I'm just interested in others success'

freeq
sad

Success seems to fade when you hang out here a lot...

zereil
In what regard do you mean that success fails?

freeq
sad

Just look at me. How much worse can success fade away?

Ushgarak
Sorry, Dr. Who a sitcom? Huh? Like that screwball comedy Star Trek, I suppose, and the keenly observed satire that was Battlestar Galactica, and the great grand-daddy of all comedy movies Star Wars.

I think you will find tha they are all, in fact, sci-fi and not sitcom.

Red Dwarf, on the other hand, was ACTUALLY both, and Clinton liked it. Hmm... is that a good thing or not? Regardless, like it or not you have to admit that it was better than the two pilots they made for US versions...

finti
Dr Who boring now where did I leave my scarf rolling on floor laughing

Ushgarak
Even more boring if you think it is a comedy.

But then, myself to Finti on sci-fi is like JO to Finti on music...

finti
I dont find Dr Who funny it sure as hell no comedy. Talking about Babylon 5 again Ush? big grin

Ushgarak
Bab 5 rules! New series coming!

But that Dr. Who isn't a comedy was somewhat my point.

finti
No the act of a delusional curly guy with a giant scarf and lousy robots aint funny at all, New Series of Bab 5 oh my .. yippee roll eyes (sarcastic) Guess you like Blakes 7 as well Ush

Ushgarak
Yes I do, as you know full well as we have had this conversation before...

Hmm, where is the new series of Space: Above and Beyond... oh! There isn't one, is there?

finti
he he he Ush, guess I missed the last episode of that show how did it end?
You memeory serves you well Ush, bury your memory deep down Ush. They do you credit but could be made to serve Gundy and queeq

Gundark
I liked Dr. Who. And Hitchiker's.....

What about Space 1999 ? That was meat and potatoes for its time.

freeq
sad

Ah, the good old days....

finti
JW the self realisation was a joke roll eyes (sarcastic) even though it might have been the truth big grin
I used to live in Arkansas and they dont put the Texan to highly there, go Razorbacks smokin' rolling on floor laughing big grin

Jameous Woodshire
Like I said, I still dont get what the self realisation was. I knew it was some sort of joke, but obviously not a very good one wink laughing out loud

I've worked on 4 low budget films, nothing near the massave budget that Breakfast Club had big grin Most of the crew and actors havent been payed, so dont expect to get rich right away in the biz. smile

finti, that was great news you picked up from the folks that live in the last state in the union. big grin Of course they hate Texas, its jelousy. smokin'

How did this get so waaaaaaaay off topic confused

Gundark
Don't worry Jameous...its supposed to be off topic at this point. We're fine, we're all fine here now thank you. How are you ?

Jameous Woodshire
wink

Were sending a squad up. Who is this? Whats your operating number!?!

Happy birthday Gundy! I hope you have fun. smokin'

keokiswahine
Happy Birthday, Gundy. Have a maitai on me. smokin'

freeq
Reporting in from Pennsylvania. We're having a ball over here. Gundy doesn't look like she's turning **, more like... 18.

ratcat
Wouldn't she prefer a Maitia in a glass?

keokiswahine
is freeq serving up Gundy's maitai in a pineapple? Geez, it's going to spring a leak. big grin

finti
I didnt get this one JW. embarrasment

Jameous Woodshire
Poorest, least educated, state. Last in almost every catagory. The only export they had was Clinton, and they arent as proud of that anymore.

The only thing the Rasorbacks are good for are beating up the Bears and the Cougars. But the Southwest confrence is no longer, so that dosn't count for them either.

Well it could have been Oklahoma. Then I'd say that was worse wink

"Why dosent Texas float into the gulf and become it's own country?

Because Oklahoma sucks!"
Bad Texan joke. evil face

keokiswahine
I thought Mississippi was the state at the bottom of everything. confused roll eyes (sarcastic)

Jameous Woodshire
If not last in everything then close to it. They trade places alot for last.

Anyway I was just trying to act like the steriotypical Texan for Ya'll wink.

ratcat
Ten gallon hat and all...

Jameous Woodshire
Exactly. laughing out loud

"I'm a long tall Texan, wear a ten gallon hat." Dr. Hook.

ratcat
OMG, not another one.

finti
when I was in Arkansas they were the fourth poorest state, Clinton turned this around and by the time he was elected president Arkansas had 20 states below them when it came to economics. They also climbed in every other catagory. Texans always seem to brag a lot even abroad so JR are kind of a prototype Texan, not because we watched Dallas over here, but because they acted just like him.. To be fair though they lightened up alot over here(Texans) so now they seems almost like an average American(US) big grin

Jameous Woodshire
That sounds about right Ark. did pull it up a bit. I dont have any #s available.

Also about the JR thing. Yes there was alot of 'new' money floating around Texas after the oil and real estate booms (then busts) and they made alot of would be trailer trash rich so they would fly all over with their big hair and shark skin boots and probbaly make a specticle of themselves.

But most the Texans I know from the bigger cities have gotten far away from the 'goat roper' urban cowboy stuff. In fact most dont even have an accent to set them apart from where they are from.

keokiswahine
Your fellow texans in the cities are hard working people, thereby losing their southern accents interacting in city living in a more international atmosphere.

New money or sudden money from the oil fields tend to make some folks act strange, especially when they decide to spend all that money in the cities.

Once you get out of the cities into the country, it's normal country farm land with critters, etc, since they don't have the benefit of oil dollars/oil riches to disrupt their lives and cause them to act wierd.

ratcat
Keo is right, The Nuevo Riche tend to do strange thinks with their new found wealth. A lot end up losing it all because they don't understand how to control that kind of wealth.

freeq
Okay, I'm back. Gundy's party was great, maybe I'll invite you guys next year.

Zereil
So what happened at the party, what did I miss? damn its been a while since I went or had a good one...

freeq
Really? What did you do with all those girls then? And I heard Hull is the happiest city in England? laughing out loud

Zereil
Ok you want the full story? here we go.

I have as you probably are fully aware been in the past an absoulte tart. This was particularly after the accident that I was in and the consequences. This in itself has some interesting stories and damn I learnt a lot. However following on last year I finnally decided that I wanted to settle down and maybe stick with just one nice girl see how it went. Marriage wasnt initially on my mind but having gone through a transfer period from a girl called Gabi I went with Rebecca who proposed to me. At the time I agreed on the basis that I wouldn't get married till after university and years work so that I could a) afford it and b) make sure that it would work out. After a few months though she changed and I discovered that she wasnt the girl I loved. My friends and family didnt like her she became aggressive and overtly flirtatious used all my money and she was bad in.. well you know.

Anyway at this point I then went through a transitional period where at a party I met Petra a nice CHristian girl but she wanted a lot too soon which meant that whilst drunk at another party I had a night or two or few with Jude. She had to leave Hull to go and work in London so that came to an end. IN the same society regreting my actions in comfort I met Emma, which again wasnt what I had in mind, but clearly she did.

For a week I stayed alone whilst perhaps being partially flirtatious. Then LEslie happened she is a girl who also had a fiance' but who was a poor performer with little to show and who fired before the pistol. So we had an interesting arrangement.

Afterwhich the party happened. THis was confusing as this led to troubles. THere were three girls Taz Nikki and Charlie. At the beginning I'd met Charlie the night before at a night club and Andreas had said that she would like to go out with me so I thought OK so before lunch time I GOt it on though nothing to heavy. She had to go to work though. AFter lunch TAz had to go home and I had had a bit to drink so when escorting her to the door, she launched upon me and took my number and in fairness I did not stop her. As the party went on I had a time with Nikki before she went home and Charlie returned. All three are friends, which a) I disnt realise and b) had never planned on messing around on. THey all knew about this and didnt blame me or each other but. Nikki liked someone else as well so she stayed out but then for a week I came into a conflict between TAz and CHarlie whilst trying to do as best I could for both. EVentually telling both I wouldnt see either andI would see what I thought In September.

Finnally 3 weeks before holidays I went to Bennie's party. SHe is a lovely French girl and I ended up spending the night then the next and so on and ended up being a couple again. THe only problem with this is a combination of distance and uncertainty as to what happens next. Bennie is a little afraid as apparently she has never felt the way she does for me before and so its all OK at the mo...

But none the less as such its now been a month since I've been to a party never mind a good one...ANy questions?

finti
a little Cassanova big grin

Dim
Lets not encoarage him...

Zereil
In which regard I did state that I had none of this in mind...

Dim
laughing out loud Hmmm..I don't know if that really matters..Oh well, you're young.

keokiswahine
my goodness, you've been busy. confused roll eyes (sarcastic) eek! smokin'

finti
how about a test at the local clinic there big grin

Gundark
Let's see you pull a song out of your Wurlitzer for that one, fin ! cool

Sounds like you can take over for Gere in American Gigolo part 2, Zereil....

ratcat
Yes, always recommend tests at the clinic, a VITAL after thought when stupidity rules....

Ushgarak
Sighs deeply.

finti
"I'm just a gigolo
And everywhere I go
People know the part I'm playin'
Pay for every dance
Selling each romance
Ooh, what they sayin' " -DLR big grin

freeq
*hides wife*

Zereil
I did and I'm clean thank you very much and regardless I never make the stupid move of going in without protection. My defensive shields are up and I go in...Ooh testing, it hurts like hell...

freeq
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII.... wouldn't know. cool

ratcat
I wouldn't want to know.

Zereil
I was just sharing... smile

mechmoggy
A little too much, methinks big grin

ratcat
Just a little...

Zereil
sorry? sad

ratcat
Too much information, just a little too much information.

Don't panic, though I can see how that could have been read as an insult against your manliness!

Zereil
I think I was concerned on the grounds that in a strange way I consider you as friends and given it was questioned whether given my reputation I could have been given the kinda present no body wants I just wanted to make clear that it wasnt the case, I was trying to clear my name. NOw if I were to either upset people or lie through my teeth I would have declared my absolute innocence in everything. ANyway hope you understand, people confused

Zereil
I think the thing is as well as being honest and open, I try and be a happy socialite, but probably much as many others, I have a whole series of insecurities and the main one is my understanding or relating to people, as I'm sure Ush either has or would tell you I've regained myself over the last 2 years since the car crash that lost my memory and as such my way of introducing myself is declaring to people everything that is me. IN this manner they may choose to either appreciate me or hate me but at least I'd then know..I like making friends in whatever shape or form and as such I shall try and be far more cautious in my actions in future. I do appreciate your aid ain acknowledging and noting any flaws. Uni is good for work and parties but doesnt help with people, most are as messed up all for a rainbow of different reasons...oh well best smile

mechmoggy
Don't fret Z, I find that most people find that I'm hard to get on with to start because I come across as cold and un-approachable, but people soon realise that I'm not and 95% of what I say isn't serious and shouldn't be taken as such. wink

Zereil
Thanks I truly appreciate that. Its clear though that now that people here will probably know me almost too well... especially given most havent actually met me...

freeq
Actually, Ush hasn't told us that much about you. We let you do that. And most of us are just pulling your leg a bit. We like you, you can tell. big grin

ratcat
*Watches Freeq real in another one...*

freeq
Hope I have enough wire.

ratcat
I'm sure you'll cope.

Dim
If not..just use your hands...

ratcat
Eugh! Unpleasant thoughts. Just promise to
wear gloves...

Dim
Why? Ze doesn't have cooties..

freeq
I never thought he did. You made me reconsider.

ratcat
Actually, he's been tested all clear apparently, so yes, you can forget the gloves freeq.

Ushgarak
You were the same before the accident, Ze, as you know full well... does the name 'Jackie' mean anything to you?

finti
Jackie Chan?

Ushgarak
Not that I remember.

finti
"Does anyone remeber Vera Lynn" -Pink Floyd, (just for you RC big grin )

freeq
'We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when'

queeq
The end.
