DAAANNGGG... hes the person every backyard scientist looks up to...and every matrix buff hates
"...together with a form of fusion...:

Sifer
This just backs up what I said I while back on here that there are prototype Nuclear Fusion Reactors about. But whoever it was (I can't remember) said they were at least 20 years away smile

JediHDM
They might've been refering to the fact that it cannot produce energy, yet....Maybe?!

thats my word laughing

burlyman
to the trinity> are you people physicists / nuclear scientists, *insert another word that means clever here*, or something? http://www.killermovies.com/forums/images/moresmilies/boxed2.gif http://www.killermovies.com/forums/images/moresmilies/thumbsup.gif

Korri
i took Standard Grade Biology Chemestry and Physics so i am a sciency person smart

burlyman
haha big grin

Korri
lol im rubbish at them anyway whistle

but im ok in Biology angel

burlyman
im rubbish at chemistry stick out tongue

happy kine
fusion is the oposite of fission... fusion take two atoms and put them together... it creates massive amounts of energy.... the sun is a fusion reactor. the amount of heat and pressure need to accomplish fusion is massive and so far not possible on earth by the hands of man. cold fusion was thought to be able to overcome that but it turned out to be a pipe dream. my only question is will we really use it only for peaceful purposes...
what this kid made was reactor that has been around for a while... its just that a kid built it with spare parts that makes it neat.

Korri
i appoligise!! sad

burlyman
Korri> i was talking to myself!

Korri
ahhhh ok

The Omega
Burlyman> I have a masters degree in theoretical high energy physics and a bachelors degree in mathematics! So to answer you question: Yes smile

rysdigital
ristecpa cool

JediHDM
Omega> ...WOAH! I didn't know that... maybe joeboy will listen to you now...probably not...

i know these people. i live in Utah. :P

happy kine
dang. so what is going on in theoretical high energy physics these days?

Korri
smart wow!

im rubbish at Physics and Im 'O.K' at maths

joeboy
beer

The Omega

JediHDM
Omega> You're telling me...I looked at a Physics site the other day, nearly peed my pants at what they were talking about, with parts of quarks and the ways that protons and neutrons are bound together...we didn't learn THAT in high school...

SimplePriest
Omega> Wow!! Yet somehow, I'm not surprised. You always came across as a smart person. Whew, you're learning about things I would drool to hear more about (string theory, nano-tech, and superconductors). Good on ya.

rysdigital
we actually did eek! (except for the quark thing stick out tongue), hooray for dutch education.
