Greetings my friends!!

Its my first time here and i want to send you greetings from Lisboa/Portugal, from a Tolkien's fanatic since 1982...me.. Corlindel.

I hate Aragorns actor!!! What a "falsete" voice.
I don't like the role given to "Arwen" at the movies trilogy. What a difference from the original story!!! She is an beautiful actress, but just for sex movies. Anyone knows where can i find a xxx movie with her?
Gandalf is fine.
Eowin is better than Arwen..but i still prefer Arwen in my bed
Galadriel is just fine. But the actress is perfect. Who saw Elizabeth I? She is great at that role.
Saruman is fine
Where is Denethor?
Poor Legolas. Why the elfs are so gay at the movie? Why are they so blond? Anyone to tell the director to read the difference betwen Vanyar, Noldor, Telleri (Eldar) and Sindarin elfs?
Some parts of the movie are made to teenagers fans, and remember me a childs fairy tale.

I hope a better respect for J.R.R.TOLKIEN story at the third part of the trilogy

i thought aragorn was played really well.
admittedly, arwen's role was quite different from the book, but they need to add the romance angle to the movie to attract those that don't read the book.
gandalf is not just fine, but GREAT.
and the elves gay? i don't know, the women seems to think they're pretty hot. i personally feel that orlando plays it quite well.

Aragorn was the 2nd best played character in the movie ( Gandalf was the best)
AND IF YOU paid any attention to the movie news u will know that denethor will be in ROTK.
and i think they lengthened arwen's story to include her more into the story line.........remember the book had aragorn and arwens's story in the Appendix so Peter Jackson needed to reveal a bit behind the couple within the movie

viggo mortensen is an amazing actor, not only is he an actor he paints and photographs and writes poetry, i think that he did well with aragorn,

I think the LOTR movies have been done really well. All of the actors/actresses are really good, i think.

I also like most of the actors, especially Lee and Blanchett imho played very good;
But I didn't like Legolas and most of the blond elves... they are no Vanyar but Nandor or Sindar...

But Legolas is an exception, I think - I also would've liked to see him dark-haired, but in the Hob the "wood-elven king" is once mentioned as having blond hair, and it's quite obvious that Thranduil and the elvenking are the same person.
As no one knows who Legolas' mother or Oropher's parents were, we'll never no if it was perhaps one of the few Minyar that didn't go to Aman.
But of course at that time Tolkien hadn't planned yet that the Hob could have happened in ME.

First off, "hate" is a very strong word but everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Fortunately, not everyone shares in on your opinions. I for one, thinks Viggo is doing an excellent job!! Kudos to the actor!!!

He has an opinion, and a Right to share it... here or anywhere else where the subject is associated..

Viggo talks VERY deep in 'real life' and it suits Aragorns character PERFECTLY. It shows a dark past, but at the same time shows so much hope in what he could become. Brilliant.

Okay..viggo has portrayed aragorn very amazingly, why you say he doesnt, has gotten me completely lost! Viggo is everything lord of the rings needed for the character aragorn, its his look, his acting, his voice, just everything, he fits the character aragorn so wonderfully!

And elves arent gay, elves are actually fascinating creatures, big woop they are blondes, but thats what makes them unique in their own ways, thats the way some elves hair was in middle earth, not all elves are blonde, arwen isnt a blonde, its not right to diss elves because they are blondes, they are very amazing!

True, everybody is entitled to their own opinions but it can only go so far. And, as said earlier, the mentionning of Arwen? Please...grow up! We're talking about a movie made for teenagers, NOT adult-rated movies. Now to my point...

I know this post isn't about elves in particular but you did mention them, claiming that they're "gay". For your information, not ALL the elves in the movie are blonde. Your beloved Arwen most definitely isn't (unless you're colour blind). And Orlando Bloom (who is my friend's first cousin, btw) plays the role of Legolas very well. And suppose you think the elves are gay because they always brush their hair and whatnot...at least they'll live forever!

1. Seeing as though you're just looking at Liv Tyler as a piece of meat, I refuse to show any respect to you.
2. I believe the casting for the Lord of the Rings Trilogy was excellent except for the actor who played Celeborn, but he was just a minor character.
3. Elves are gay? Gay? Out of all the terms you could've used you chose 'gay'. That really sure shows a lack of any manners at all while announcing your opinion.
4. If you were actualling watching out for the media and has seen the TT: EE you'd know where the Denethor is, but I see you've failed to do so I will just leave it as that.

I believe that Aragorn's voice is amazingly good for his role because of his title as a Dunedain Ranger.

Legolas for me was alright in FOTR. 'Coz it was the first time that LOTR was shown and Orlando wasn't exactly all that famous yet and no one was drooling over Legolas at that time. So..they had made Legolas a little low-profile in FOTR, and that was perfect, IMO. In TTT and ROTK on the other hand, they gave him those ridiculous stunts and laughable lines.

Dude, was PJ serious? LOL...All Lorien Elves? Blonde? but in all fairness, not all Elves in the movies are all blonde, there are also some dark-haired ones...thankfully.

And I agree with the Elves at the council, the ones I saw are ugly. It seemed like the casting people just picked random people and gave them blonde wigs and pointy ears.

Hm... youre somehow really right with Orlando. If I think about it, there werent any of these ridiculous artistic things (except the cave-troll-one but that was ok) in FoTR... all that came after the first film... thx for making me think differently about it now

Yes he was he said that of the two most important elvish "families", the lorien ones and the rivendell ones, those of Lorien were blond and those of Rivendell dark-haired
I was also glad about the darkhaired, especially on their journey to the grey havens in RoTK...

Glorfindel was probably the last Vanyar/Noldor blood elf in Middle-Earth. And one of the most expected scenes of a LOTR movie was stolen by that "piece of meat" Well..Just overreacting but it is a pity

sorry, but this is the wrong place to say anything bad aobut LOTR. THere are some people in here that get really mad about that kinda stuff.

I only have 3 questions:

A) What did you really find wrong with Mortesen's portrayal of Aragorn? Do you have specifics, or is it just going to be more "He's not hw I pictured him"? Honestly, none of the characters in books-turned-movies are exactly how readers picture them, but that does not make the acting bad.

B) Why do you say the elves seem gay? I honestly never got that impression. Was it that they are more calm, wise and respectful than you are accustomed to. Because, honestly, Elrond wasn't sending out real "homosexual vibes" to me, and I don't understand where your comment is coming from, unless it's from some deep-seated, unrecognized homophobia in your personality.

C) Why is it that you are able to demand respect for a person and their work and not show any in return? Tolkien may have created great works, and be respected for it, but Liv Tyler and the other actors of Lord of the Rings are all respectable and added on to Tolkien's fabulous story, allowing even more people to be happy. To then come on here and suggest that this person is only good for sexual reasons show such termendous disrespect that it makes your entire post smack of hypocracy.

D) How, if you're such a die hard LOTR fan, are you going to spell "Eowyn" wrong? Come on, now.
