I've just read the part in the book where they say that pippin "takes his last look" and I can't bear that he actually would DIE!?!?! Can anyone confirm/deny this? I've read most of the other posts about "who dies in ROTK" but no mention of pippin in there.....

no pippen does not die he meets up with gandalf and all the others in the 3rd book

yeah, but after he goes into battle (right near the end before frodo's last part), he kills a smaller troll and the troll lands on him and he dies.....

No he doesn't, he is found by gimli who sees his foot sticking out under the Troll body after the battle. He does have serious injuries and has to stay in bed for quite a while.

YES PIPPIN DOES NOT DIE. PIIPIN IS FOUND, LIKE IT WAS SAID BEFORE AND HE IS HEALED AT THE CAMP OUTSIDE THE GATES OF MORDOR. WHEN HIM AND SAM AND FRODO AND MERRY GO BACK TO THE SHIRE, HIM AND MERRY ARE HAILED AS GREAT WARRIORS, BECAUSE THEY CONTINUE TO WEAR THEIR ARMOR FROM THEIR COUNTRIES. (MERRY=ROHAN, PIPPIN=GONDOR.)

when i 1st read that part in rotk i was shocked and freaked out...awww i would be soo sad if he did die....whew

You just can't kill off somone like Pippin. Or Merry for that matter. Those two and Fred and George are the best duos ever.

no i mean i no stuff bout the movie...like i no all the scenes that have been cut all the extra scenes...all the extended that will be added to TTTs...those types of spoilers...including book spoilers...i have the last 2 pages from the script...hehe...i loooooooooove LOTRs...omg its nuts

i posted this message because my husband and i are reading the books back to back from scratch and i just happened to get to that part last night. i didn't know, because i stopped reading...my husband tried to freak me out (because he's read them before) and i got freaked, (which is why i posted here to make sure....)

i think that LOTR is for our generation what star wars was 30 years ago....
