I'm currently listening to the soundtrack...I think that its good but not as good as the star wars soundtracks....I got it a few days ago for my birthday. The music is very nice
I was wondering if anyone else had comments about the soundtrack to The fellowship of the Ring

the sound track is extarordinary. Only duel of the fates might slightly be compared with enya's work...

I think it's absolutely ace, and it gets better the more you listen to it. splendid job by howard shore, looking forward to the next one

i only listened to the whole thing....well Actually I'm not sure if I listened to the whole cd....I think I did but out of order...still I enjoyed it and will eventually listen to the whole thing in order

i love his music. fellowship was pretty good, but two towers is awesome. i love to listen to it when i am working on like a drawing or sculpture, artsy stuff. it really helps you to focus in on what your doing and all of a sudden i will have over an hour of solid work done and the end of the CD,

hmmmm i haven't heard the TTT one yet but the FOTR score was great.....howard shore did a really good job in encompassing the different scenes and its emotion into music.......but return of the king is one i'm gonna buy(.....not download.......shsshh dont tell RIAA).

You know the big climatic Crowning tunes, the pelennor fields, and the summary music Galadriel will most likely narrate too...........ooooooooo i cant wait...well i just cant wait till ROKT anyway

Oh the music is fantastic! I...eh..*looks around* ...*whispers* ..cry.. when I hear it. I mean it's so full of emotion (not in every song, I mean songs like 'the bridge of khâzad-dum' at the end and 'the breaking of the fellowship' etc.) there is not a week that will pass with out me listening to lotr music once or twice or more. (I even listen to it in bed...don't tell my parents! hehehe) Yes, I listen to other music to..really...I swear!!

if i played piano, i'd have the books, i'm looking for sheet music for my violin, i always listen to the music when i'm trying to concentrate and do homework or even trying to calm down and sleep, it puts me in a pensive mood

Im a die hard Rock/Metal fan but even i have to admit the LotR soundtrack is fabulous i have Enya's May It Be on my Mini Disc which makes it one of only 2 songs non rock/metal related.

I think that the music in that movie is incredible. It gives every scene more feeling and emotion. Has Howard Shore won any awards for his work? If he hasn't, he should! The man is brilliant.

I loved the music, especially the march of the ents, the Nazgul-music (I love Adûnaic) and all the music from Helm's Deep.

I like it because of the text... its phantastic... but I prefer the Black Speech and Sindarin texts, more athmosphere.

my favorites are riders of rohan and The Breaking of the Fellowship. They are both very romantic, but in a like proud warrior fighting for the good of the world sort of way. Bridge of Khazad Dum is good also. Lots of tension, especially during that chant part. I wonder what delightful middle earth language that is...

I like LoTR much more than Gladiator (which is also veeeeeeeeeery good)

It's very touching, I always listen to it, when I go to sleep, when I'm making homework, when I'm doing nothing lol, etc.

I am sooo jealous! Wish I had a violin and some lessons. I have made it my ultimate dream to play that emotional Rohan theme. It is so beautiful! I Listen to it during homework and while I'm drawing, and Dudes, I've aced many a test thinking about the song "The Riders of Rohan."
I have found peace within myself.

to MUSE5= A gcse is a very important exam that you take in year 11, we have subjects like english (I have welsh in my school too) science and maths that we have to take and then we can choose some of our own, on of them i took was music and so I'm taking my gcse exam in music ok?

So hard to chose favorites.

Concerning Hobbits, the Bridge of Khazad-dum, the Breaking of the Fellowship, the King of the Golden Hall, the Evenstar, The Hornburg, Forth Eorlingas, Isenguard Unleashed, and Samwise the Brave.

When FOTR was announced and they had Shore's name listed at the composer, I was highly disappointed and miffed that they did not choose John Williams. John Williams imo is the master composer of our generation and was skeptical of the music.

I bought the FOTR cd the day it came out and listened to it ever day in anticipation of the movie coming out (I even made my crew at work listen to it every night). The music grew on me immediately and the anticipation of opening night was boiling over to see how the music played in the movie.

After listening to both cd's and watching both movies, I think John Williams would have done an excellent Job and capture the movie, but I have noticed lately that Williams repeats certain passages in his movies now. There is nothing wrong with this, after writing so many movies it's bound to happen. Even the great composer Bach stold from his other massses while composing new ones (Bach composed 2 masses per weeks for many years plus raised a family of 17 childrend if I remember right).

I think for these movies there needed to be new blood, and Howard Shore was the correct chose as the composer. He will be forever known as the great composer of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Howard Shore always comes up with totally new ideas - thats what I love about him.

Other soundtrack-composers of use the same themes over and over, after some time that gets kinda boring.
Sometimes it's also not really perfect for the movie,

My favourite piece of music of FotR is from the extended version, when Frodo and Sam see Elves pass by in the forest. It's elvish and beautiful...

I went to my local music shop for my piano book, but try surfinf the net and ordering it, or order it from ur nearest music shop.

i have the soundtrack album and it rocks baaaaaaaad...i listen to it everyday and the two greatest are gollums song andcouncil of elrond...the music is just fantatic and howard shore was excellent...doubt if the master himself( williams) could have done it better!

ive got the FOTR but not TTT - god, the variety of emotions,frm the grand, victorious (for sum reason i see legolas running oh-so-gracefully when i hear tt pt,the theme which u hear at the beginning of track 13,heh heh ) to the ones which sooo make me cry,the breakin of the fellowship n all......howard shore is i total virtuoso!!!!him n john williams TOP my list man!!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite LotR songs are the one when Aragorn's in the river and he wakes up after he falls over the cliff and my other favorrite is the Gollum Song. I'm saving up to get the soundtracks from both movies, hopefully i'll be able to get them soon

I love all Shire music or any hobbit music..I love the song at the end os the fellowship by Enya "may it be" and when there at helms deep and gandalf comes with the rohirrem(sp) I love that music too well lets just say I love all the music but I don't like orc and evil music lol

I LOVE LOTR music!! I don't know like, names of pieces and things off by heart ((I do with SW Ep2 music)) but I love listening to it while watching the movies...it is VERY touching!!

LOTR music touches me sooooooo much... its really a big boost of imagination in my artwork. i think the 2 songs that have gotten to me the most is the onr where the ents say they are going to war and that lady starts singing as there walking down the hillside... i get shivers every time. the other one is the one where arwen strays into her dream and its the somber lonely song with the female vocals.

its all so touching...

I love all the songs with Arwen, it was just so romantic. At first I didn't like the Rohan theme because it seemed really depressing but it started to grow on me.

I love the music of Enya on the FOTR, especially "The Counsel of Elrond". I also love "Amon Hen". On the extended version of FOTR, there is a part of that song that is not in the orginal release or the soundtrack that I have. Does anyone know where I can find it?

From TTT, I enjoy listening to "Evenstar" and "Breath of Life". I also LOVE "Foundation Of Stone". There are so many that have touched me. VERY MOVING!
