Well I purchase my copy today and I watched it 3 times already trying to extract every little detail the DVD had to offer. It was amazing in my opinoin, telling so much of what we knew so little about in the Matrix world. I noticed a few emotional feelings and tears during the Second Renaissance Part II SP? at how the human civilization was portrayed as in it, but the saddening thing was that it was really true to some extent on how we act. I know most of you have already seen the Animatrix but I just wanted to know if it changed the way you look at the Matrix as much as it did to me.
B166ER
it did because before i thought of the machines as just things would want to kill humans and take over the world. i htought it was awsome how they had the whole united nations thing and how there was disputes on robot rights. the whole time i was thinking, "Fate it seems, yet not without a sence of irony".
Another_Smithy
Same here, I also felt sorry for the machines too because all they wanted is equality a simple yet very sought after thing, and they even tried to be friends with us but with our pride we just destroyed all possibility of peace with them. The Animatrix was really the Second Renaissance in my opinoin, the other stuff was to make the DVD and VHS full.

No, everything has a purpose, we're all here to do, what we're all here to do...Meaning, i think that, even if we dont yet understand WHY they're there, they're there for a reason, and it is our purpose to understand what they're purpose is...And, yes, i was moved by the plight of the Machines...it was sad...

Hm I guess you right Jedi, I think its just that I was more entertained by the Second Renaissance the most than the others even though they were all good. My least fav is probably Beyond.
Sifer
Beyond is amazing - brilliant animation and story.
Another_Smithy
Hm now that I watch Beyond again I rethink my choice, I believe that World Record is my least fav.
Sifer
You know I am gonna say they are all brilliant right? Believe me, they all grow on you
Watch the making of and watch them with the commentaries turned on - It's worthwile.
Another_Smithy
You think so? I still believe that World Record is the worst though. I read somewhere that the Animatrix was garbage so I did'nt bother buying it until now. Can you believe dat?
Another_Smithy
Yeah I forget the site, it also said that the Matrix was over hyped and that Reloaded was even worse than Animatrix (or so they though)
Sifer
LMAO - obviously didn't understand it then did they :P
JediHDM
no, of course not, the lemmings control this world, and the media...
VenomVA
Not everyone will understand the Matrix as we do so of course not everyone will not like it and that's ok....I just ignore their asses when they talk bad about my movie....I even ignore my wife when she says "Damn baby, you watching it again" lol She just don't understand.
As far as Animatrix I got it late also but I have watched it plenty times now and LOVE IT!!! World Record is not my fav but I must say that I really enjoy watching it! Not quite sure why he didn't wake up, I know the head jack stopped him and all. Anyways my collection is now complete (so far til reloaded, rev and the other matrix game come out). I suck in all the Matrix I can on a daily bases from the Movies to THIS FORUM (yall are some real nice people, smart too), to ETM. I LOVE IT!!!!
SimplePriest
venomVA> Thanks dude. I like this forum too. There's a real nice bunch of characters here. Except my buddy navykidd. JJ
(we know each other so we're always joking around).
But as for the animatrix, I think I like the first three films the best. I also like Program, A detective story, and Matriculated. If you like these films you should read the comics on the matrix website. They're good to for background information (and entertaining
) I think they are all good to watch, and that they all have a purpose. I recommend them to anyone who wants to know more about the matrix world.
Another_Smithy
I read that comic on the matrix website and I found it quite interesting about the food runs and stull lol...
Sifer
Well with World Record, everyone is left hanging. Did he free himself at the end when he buckled over? or didn't he? hrmmm
JediHDM
not sure, i'd have to watcfh again...
Persuillius
I have watched the Animatrix 9 times in a week. The Ninth short film, I dont get. Sombody explain please?!?!
However, Reconcisiance one and two help the story line along soooo much.
Some storys, like where Neo saves...that kid, cant remember his name, he gets out of the matrix...by dieing. Which opens the the sky, to the other ways of getting out.
Very handy little film that.

I thought the guy in World Record looked like Link :-p

The whole Animatrix thing is definately worth getting...it breaths a bit more life into the whole thing, rather than it being an action movie, it becomes a believable story. The second rennaisance made it seem so much more real, just simply because it is what we, as humans, would do were the situation to arise.
Although I'm sure that someone in the world would realise the stupidity in operation dark cloud...and that machines would utterly annihilate humans in real combat.

Two months, no posts, so here's one.
When I watched the director's analyze of each one and Beyond truely strucked me. The guy said that their are many things hidden in the episode that u may not get at first. I watched several times and I didn't notice anything. Maybe I got lucky and got it all, but I doubt it. Can anyone help elabrate this?
