With the two towers at the battle of helms deep wasnt Eomer already ment to be there and he was ment to fight on the bridge with Aragorn not Gimili, but instead he gets banished so hes not there meaning thhey leave out Erkenbrand who ment to come save the king not Eomer.

But as there were so many changes about the battle of the hornburg, this fact was lost in the amount of other changes.

That was a fairly obvious one to do- same trick the animated version used. It suits the flow of a film much better.

Well, at least the Huorns are in the Extended cut :P
