Another one of those pesky getting to know you type questions.
Just wondered what music people are listening to at the moment. This was sparked off by the stack of CD's I just knocked onto the floor whilst making room to put my coffee on the desk. Here's my list.
Toploader - Onka's Big Moka
Anastacia - Not That Kind
Dido - No Angel
Fantasmic Soundtrack from WDW
Samantha Mumba - Gotta Tell You
Craig David - Born To Do It
Hear'Say - Popstars
OK, bit of a strange mix but there ya go...
finti
At the moment I`m listening a lot to David Bowie at Beebs, great stuff. I also have a self made cd I listen a lot to at the moment.
Bad Manners - Walking in the sunshine
Blue Feather- Lets funk tonight
DrHook - The turnon song
Dr Hook -I cant say no to her
Randy Maisner- I`ve been aching
Ellen Foley- The death of the psychoanalyst of Salvador Dali
Suzie Quatro- Four letter words
Kane Gang -Closest thing to heaven
Ian Mathews -Darkness darkness
Fox the fox-Precious little diamond
Secret Garden - Nocturne
Barry de Vorzone-Theme from warriors
Sweetwater - Whats wrong
Loggins and Messina-Danny`s song
From Lippo Lippi-Should`nt have to be like this.
I also got into Camel again and then there is Deep Purple and Pink Floyd
Ushgarak
Mainly U2, REM, Cranberries...
finti
The musical prefernce of students.
Ushgarak
All three are going out of fashion for students... not that I'm one anyway.
Stuff like Travis and Radiohead is student music now.
JediOasis
Um, lets see, ah, oh yeah, Oasis.
I also really enjoy the Coldplay album and the new one from the Sterophonics.
Dim
Let see...Sarah McLachlan, Moby, Doe Maar,
I've been listening to those for a while though..need something new. I want the soundtrack to Oh Brother, Where Art Thou.
queeq
The Sound of my own Voice.
ratcat
Your own voice is music???
queeq
You just asked what I listen to. You never said anything about music.
ratcat
Hey Laser brain, the question was:
finti
the sound of silence
queeq
The thread clearly says: "What ya listening to?" I answered the question.
What you just quoted wasn't a question.
ratcat
NO, the thread title saids "What ya listening to"
The thread then says that I was wondering what music people were listen too.
You were dumb, just admit it and move on....
queeq
You asked a question. I answered it. Is being accurate dumb all of a sudden?
ratcat
No, but failing to read the entire question is.
OK.. Queeq: What music are you listening to at the current time. A time frame of the last 2 weeks would be suitable as obviously you may not be listening to music right at this time.
queeq
Oh, you want to know what MUSIC I listen to. You could have said so in the first place.
Okay, well, basically movie soundtracks as always (Hannibal, Jaws Collector's Edition are played often now) and Doe Maar (a Dutch band).
ratcat
There, that wasn't so hard was it. Nothing remotely "pop" then? Unless Doe Maar come under that category?
queeq
Yes, Doe Maar does. But I listen a lot to the radio, which is bound to make you hate all contemporary music because they play the same stuff everyday for weeks.
ratcat
I take it you introduced Dim to that band. Well, their music at least, not them obviously.
Dim
Somehow I don't think I would have found them on my own.
Gundark
Well yesterday I was listening to Sting "Fields of Gold" and some Yanni. BTW, Ush, I just got a cranberries CD...a friend of mine told me they were really good, but haven't checked it out yet. Also listening to Santana's "Supernatural".
ratcat
See queeq, why is it that everybody else got it whilst you had to fanny around before you answer the question...
queeq
Well, that's a long story. What bar do you usually go to? I might drop buy, get real drunk and tell you all about it.
finti
Dont blame the bartender, remind me to bring earplugs. I thought RC was a regular in your bar queeq.
Edna_witch
Well at the momentm my most played CDs include
Toploader
Buffy Soundtrack
Mask of Zorro
Dawsons Creak CD
Cranberries
Ben Fold's Five
Alien Resurrection soundtrack
Coldplay
Charlatans
Travelling Wilburys - way before my time I know but I love em
Ridrigo's guitar concerto - sad I know but at times i have to admit i get cravings for the old classical stuff! What can I say? Im 18 going on 80!
ratcat
At last, some one with taste!
Ushgarak
Now, for truly classical you cannot beat Harpsichord music... Bach's your man for that...
Edna_witch
Harpsicord? Yuk I hate it! It makes my ears hurt! Thanks RC. I was sure nobody would know who Ben folds five or the traveling Wilburys were but I see I was wrong!
Ushgarak
Well, that's it, everything's over isn't it?
Perhaps you should hear some REAL HC music beforeyou pass judgment...
Edna_witch
Ive heard real harpsicord music thank you and I dont like it! I go more for the orchestral stuff or piano and in Rodrigo's case guitar allthough that has quite a large orchestral movement!
Ushgarak
Oh dearie me...
Well, I like all sorts...
Edna_witch
Im very particular about what i listen to!
I ought to add garbage to the list actually.
ratcat
I don't know many Garbage tracks, but the ones I've heard I've kinda liked.
finti
Considering our age Edna, Travelling Wilburys were kind off big in the late 80`s.
The band are made up off well known artists, I for one never fell for their music mainly because of Roy Orbison. I do like Coldplay though its one of the better bands to pop up resent years. Try out an American band called Train and their "Drops of Jupiter" pretty cool stuff
Gundark
Take notes, Edna. Finti knows his stuff.
Ushgarak
Hark! I hear the sound of beautiful harpsichord music...
Thought a bit of Concerto d'orange juice wouldn't go amiss...
(Anyone who doesn't get that one is no Ewan McGregor fan...)
Gundark
I like the traveling wilburys too. How about dire straits ?
Ushgarak
Dire Straits... now that takes me back...
Gundark
Ride across the river, brothers in arms, so far away.....good band.
Ushgarak
Never spoke to me as much as U2, though...
Gundark
U2 is excellent. "Still" one of my favs.
Ushgarak
Thoug as War was their only 80's album...
(Oh, they released others IN the eighties, but they still weren't eighties albums...)
Edna_witch
I might just do that actually! Noted!
I dont know howI got inot the travelling Wilburys. My dad had their album and i just kind of knicked it and never gave it back! I wasnt born till 1983 so they werea little bfore my time!
finti
I love the 80`s album from U2, but it ends with Rattle & Hum, dont like the stuff they put out after that.
My fav U2 album is Joshua Tree.
love the song One Tree Hill, it really runs like a river to the sea
Gundark
Yeah, I like that one too.
Wow, 47 posts and we're still on topic. Obviously queeq isn't around. Hehehe.
