There are so many things running through my head about this movie. Its rather quite fun and I can't wait for 11.05. But one of the major plot points that has me scratching my head is the importance of the child. In Enter the Matrix the newer version of the Oracle says her termenation codes were sold to Mero for the love of a child. Here is what I am thinking.

The Mero kid napped the child and held her for the termination codes as ransom.

When Neo, Morph, and Trinity visit Mero in Reloaded we see a man walking across the room staring the 3 down with nasty but suspicious look. He is being escorted out while they are just arriving.

In the Rev trailer we see Neo waking in the Mobil Ave subway station with a little girl in a gold dress standing over him.

In another shot we see Neo getting beat up by the homeless looking man from Enter The Matrix, standing next to him is a woman and the man from the restraunt with the suspicious and pissed look on his face.

Is that their daughter? The Oracle said her term codes we sold by two people for the love of a child (do not quote me exactly, and feel free to correct).

When i look at the high res version of the trailer, it almost look as though neo is expecting to ge hit. Even the reaction of what we think is the father is not that of a person happy or sad. Just a look of OUCH.

I had the same idea. It does look like he is ready to be hit. Maybe that man is trying to teach him something (?). kind of like that movie ghost.

and maybe is't like when morpheus hit him. letting him see that this is not air you are breathing. this time letting him know that he using the wrong muscles. Maybe he should be using his mind. Back to that question of what is the why.
