THE SET-UP: None. This is a practice duel- Rah is trying out a double-sabre technique with his sparring partner Galder. The fight takes place in a room that looks not unlike a large squash court- it is mostly featureless.

HOW THIS WORKS: Oh... you guys know this by NOW... just to put your mind at rest though- whilst the Dark Siders practice hardcore- with live weapons- your timing is such that you won't accidentally hurt or kill your opponent. Winning margin counts for nothing except pride. Obviously enough, you cannot flee from this fight but that makes little difference.

ANALYSIS: Straight duellist versus acrobat. Rah has a small physical edge over Galder- being just as fit and that important bit faster- but Galder is more skilled and this will count for more. As ever in such fights, though, the margin is small and post quality will count for a lot.

This is a time limited duel- in that the story will be moving on soon. It SHOULD get finished but any long delay by either player may lead to it being cut short.

Rah challenged Galder to the fight and so goes first.

Rah to attack

"Alright, Rah, let's see what you've got," Galder says to Rah, igniting his red and blue sabers in a backhand position.

With a grin "Be gentle Galder... Oh and no blowing up!" Twirling his dual blade sabre in front of him Rah leaps towards Galder. Mid leap he twists the handle seperating the blades and then spins round, one blade high the other low...

Galder spins around in the same fashion as Rah and meets his blows, and then kicks him in the shin.

Mean!

Your blows meet evenly, looks like a good fight, Rah. And then Galder kicks you- hard! He's fatser than he looks, is Galder...

Galder to attack.

"You've only seen me fight with one-blade and wounded. You'll be amazed by my skills when I am unimpaired..."

Galder jabs with both blades for Rah's chest, but swings them outwards hard to knock his opponent's blade out of position. He then kicks high for the throat.

"That's what I'm here for...(Gulp)"
As Rah's blades are moved outwards he turns to one side to avoid the kick, but instead of moving away away as you expect he pushes in, hard, and barges a shoulder into Galders chest. Blades leveled he readies for attack...

It's a good counter move- Rah AND you are faster still! Lucky you are as fit as Galder, though, as forcing your way past him can be risky... You bash Galder back and can follow up with a blow.

Rah to attack.

Galder readies himself again, spinning his lightsabers, quickly, ready to counter blows.

Rah follows his barge through by spinning around rapidly and swinging one blade as if to try cutting him in half. As Galder goes to block, Rah reverses the spin and comes at Galder's middle with the other blade...

Galder flips his blades into his back-hand style again, and holds them at his sides, blocking. As Rah spins, he kicks out at the back of Rah's kneecap.

One thing to be said to two-sabre duels- there is a LOT of rapid clashing and flashing, and it looks damn cool...

Rah spins-and-spinbacks, but with a sabre in each hand Galder is ready to block a blow whichever side it is coming, and his foot jab is fast and powerful.

Galder to attack.

Galder takes advantage of his opponent's weakness of stumbling from the kick to the back of the kneecap and shoves Rah to the ground. He stabs downwards with both blades.

(Am a learnin'! Am a learnin' already!!! )

To avoid Galder's shove Rah turns the fall into a forward roll, as he comes out of the role he uses the force enable him to high backflip over Galder. As Rah lands he uses his blades to scissor Galder...

Oooh... slow mo movie sequence repeat, maybe?

Bit of a dangerous time for a counterattack... Galder misses his shove as Rah rolls but Galder has been flipped over too many times to not be ready for it. He meets the blades dead on and sends Rah scurrying back again with a firm push.

Getting a little frustrated at Galders apparent ease Rah focases and pushes forwards with a snarl. After cutting high and low several times he then feints a high cut but instead cuts low with one blade and lunges with the other...

Galder does a horizontal slash with one blade knock away the lunging blade and leaps over the low cut and over Rah. Using the back-hand technique again, he tries to skewer Rah.

Your blows meet evenly. But Rah;s growing anger seems to be giving him the edger...

Socre: Rah- 2, Galder- 3.

Galder to attack.

"You're a good fighter, Rah..."

Galder, still using back-hand, slashes horizontally with both blades, but then feints and stabs downwards at Rah's legs, holding the other blade over his neck and back to prevent him from having a back or neck injury from his opponent's lightsaber.

(Nice move!)

"Th..anks! You're not so.. bad.. yourself!" Rah replies with a grunt.
Whilst sweeping a blade down to block Galders low stab Rah spins round to the left and kicks out at the back of Galders knees...

You are just SLIGHTLY too late to see Galder's feint, Rah. Although you block the blows you are soon virtually tumbling backwards as he pushes you back... you must counteratack!

Rah to attack. Match point to Galder.

(I did try to counter...)

... Rah tumbles into a backward roll. Then closes the space between Galder and himself with a double web of death. He then feints high and low and brings both blades in aiming for Galders abdominal region...

(when I say you must counterattack in that sense, I merely mean it's your serve at the other guy's matchpoint is all- as in it is your turn to attack and you had better win!)

Once again, Galder sticks up his blades at his sides, forseeing the feint. He then kicks Rah in the shin again.

Bugger, I thought I had updated this... must've not gone through.

Rah's ready for you this time, Galder. Your blades clash but with nimble feet he jumps your kick and, for a moment, forces you back. But then you block back and you now your time of victory is soon...

Galder to attack. Match point to Galder.

Galder charges forwards and uses powerful blows to bat away Rah's lightsaber and then drives it home with a strong jab.

Rah utilises Galders momentum to carry him past as he spins around to Galder back swinging his sabres high and kicking low...

The last few blows are fast and hard. Galder swings, Rah dodges, Galder swings again, the sabres hit, clash...

... and then the sheer force of Galder's blow means that Rah loses his footing,, stumbles a little and whilst compensating, he drops a sabre and Galder soon has his to Rah's throat.

Match to Galder

"You are good, Rah, but you still have much to learn," Galder says coldly, turning off his lightsabers. He leaves the duel court.

"Thanks Galder" Rah follows Galder out "You're a good teacher! I just hope I've learn't enough..."

"That would take that we don't have," Galder says. "Too bad really..."

"Still I appreciate the help. Fighting with 2 sabres is a totally different art to a fighting with twin blades!" Rah goes off to his room...

(The force tells me that something in the near future is going to be a tad more than a little painfull for Rah.... )
