Well, after years of waiting and waiting, and constantly hearing about it on the xbox, halo finally came out today for the pc, and i must say it is a damn fine game. very absorbing, although kinda stainuous on my computer, it still runs fine.

I love fighting with a squad in that game, its great.

go buy an x-box...the sys isn't all that bad...and then you could get KOTOR too...but that's also out for PC soon

the reason i havent bought an xbox is because i haev an adequate PC taht can run all the newer games. And as you pointed out, all the big name xbox games come to the PC not long after their released for the xbox. I will get one for halo 2 probably.

My mucka had halo on the xbox and I wasn't that impressed by it.

I saw a preview for Metal Gear 3 the other day though and it looked really good.

I would never in a million years buy an X-Box.

Just a recycled PC.

PS2 is better, the graphics may not be up to par with the X-Box, but it has all the best original games, and the control is much better.

And mostly the X-Box only gets games that have already come out on other platforms, sure they are trying to get a library on their own, but it's going to be hard to do when the PS3 is coming out in only a year or two.

And why does Microsoft have to take a great PS2 game and move it over to their crappy console, aka Grand Theft Auto 3!!! The GTA games have always been Playstation property, now it's going to be carbon copied to the X-Box later this year.

I have a decent pc that can run teh games, and all the games that come out for xbox eventually come out for the pc. so there is no need for me to buy an xbox.

The reason they come out to the PC is because it's nearly exactly the same as a PC, the discs are just formatted differently, so nobody can put a PC game on the X-Box.

Not that I know of, it's more than likely close to shipping though.

Doom 3's official release date has yet to be announced. All that is known is that it will be released next year sometime.

Half Life 2, however, is available right now if you wanna spend 500 bucks on a new video card that just came out, it is bundled together with said card. Otherwise, it comes out november 14.

well, that on JUST came out, you can get decent ones for less then 200 bucks that will run games fine for the new year. The one i have was about 170 and it will run everything fine for the next year or so. I need a new computer though, my graphics card is good, everything else is bad, i have horribly slow ram which causes my games to be extremely slow at points.

I still think that 170 bucks is too much, You can go out and buy a brand new Playstation 2 for the same price!

And you could nearly buy 2 Nintendo Gamecubes.

thats true.... but pc games require more power and usually are better looking them console games. plus, you dont need to buy a 170 dollar one, you can get a fairly decent one for less then 100 dollars, although the games wont look that great, it will still be playable for sure.

Racing, wrestling, fighting, sports.

I just don't like many FPS.

its understandable. i have many friends who dont like the genre as well. I personally love a good fps, it can be the most ingaging type of game there is. i also love rpg's and strategy games as well.

I did like 007 Goldeneye and Duke Nukem.

goldeneye was indeed a great game, as was duke nukem. The best shooter i have played is half life, outstanding, ingaging, addicting and just all around great game. Has some great mods as well.

also medal of honor is damn good.

Yes, I've played Medal Of Honor Frontline one time, but it was amazing!

the omaha beach level is just aweinspiring.

oh yeah, another great fps. that game is fun as hell. huge maps with lots of people. its fun flying planes around and crashing them into other players.

I love playing demolition derby games.

Never played it. I'm out of the loop.

I can't wait till next June when I finish my degree, I just haven't got the time for any serious gaming so I haven't bothered buying a machine for ages.

Once its all over I'm getting a PS2.

first person shooters suck on consoles, they are so much better on PCs, and PCs are so much better anyway, you can download new patches to update the game skins,destroy the gliches.

Plus they have the addtional bonus u can play online multiplayer.
Although i do enjoy playing console FPS's most notably HALO and Medal of Honour to name but only two. Although at present im am playing Raven Shield,AvP 2 and BF 1942.
