I didn't know where to post this... in 1 of the 3 or 4 threads about Gambit... or in the one about Rogue... so as this is about both as a couple I started a new one

I found this about them:

In the first X Men animated series on FOX, on the episode entitled, "Reunion Part 2", Gambit and Rogue (amongst others) were captured by Mr. Sinister ,in the Savage Land. All of their powers were negated. When Mr. Sinister's "aides" were about to take Rogue away from Remy, he (Gambit) said to her, 'Gambit loves you' and then, they kissed. She was then forcefully taken away from him.

The closed captioning (at the point of R&R's separation) had extra dialogue which was omitted from the final cut of the episode.

As Remy watched Rogue being taken away (and immediately after he said,'Gambit loves you'), the edited dialogue read, 'I always will.'
