Mine Was Iv becuase the feeling I got when they brought back the ENTERPRISE
Ushgarak
II (The Wrath of Khan) or VI (The Undiscovered Country), depending on how I am feeling.
phinney6
I liked TWOK a lot two, I hated #5
Ushgarak
I think most people didn't like V...
phinney6
I Thought I was underrated
King Jedi
The only one I liked was the one with the Borg. Which one was that?
Ushgarak
VIII, First Contact.
LanceWindu
Star Trek: The Motion Picture. It still has that retro feel to it.
phinney6
I Loved The motion picture, it was number 2 on my list. Do you guys remember the star trek original series episode with a creature called a Horta
Texas
VI is my favorite, I have it on DVD
, after that It would have to be First Contact, and then the one with the whales.
King Jedi
First Contact was good because it had some real bad guys in it.
ToMacco
I've seem thousands of movies, but I've never seen a Star Trek movie. Wait, I saw part of one that had wales in it, which one was that?
I don't watch them because I'm afraid of that one dudes ears.
Ushgarak
That was number IV, The Voyage Home. Big fan favourite but of virtually no appeal to a wider audience.
Texas
Star Trek V was on TNT two days ago, and I had forgotten how dumb that movie was! It's so cheesy! Those rocket boots and that god thingy and everyone was so happy and gay, Oh please, that one really stinks! VI kicks ass!!!!!!!!
ToMacco
Star Trek sucks
LanceWindu
ToMacco, I know you have a right to your opinion, but you are getting on my nerves with always backtalking EVERYONE.

"Generations". "Star Trek: Insurrection" is being released this Tuesday in a 2 Disc CE DVD.
WindDancer
For me it was The Wrath of Khan. It had one of the best Star Trek Villains ever and also the ending was sad. Spock dies
But they ruined it with the third film. Despite a great storyline they shoulda respected the ending of the second film by keeping Spock out.
Darth Plegueis
Yeah, but Nimoy decided he needed the money.
SnakeEyes
First Contact is my favorite... no contest.
The Wrath of Khan is a classic though
baracustastic
For me it's:
VI then VIII then II then IV. Not a fan of the odd films in general and those after VIII me no likey.
David Bowie is a lucky man
lil bitchiness
I hate Star Trek movies, and im not saying this as a Star Wars fan, im saying this from a neutral perspective - there was nothing too great or too interesting - to me anyway about Star Trek.
Cinemaddiction
Girlys swooned over Shinzon in "Nemesis", lol. I always thought that was kind of......odd. His gear is badass, no doubt.

Wrath of Khan. It;s the Best Trek Movie EVER!!!
My fave ST movies in order:
1.Wrath of Khan
2.Nemesis
3.Generations
4.First Contact
5.Voyage Home
6.Undiscovered Country
Lord Shadow Z
1.Undiscovered Country
2.Wrath of Khan
3.Search for Spock
4.Voyage Home
5.First Contact
Phoenix
I liked the TV series better than the movies... having said that tho, there were a few of the movies i liked - don't really know names, but the one with the whale, the one where spock 'dies' and is all resurecty, Wrath of Khan, and Generations
SpikeSpiegel
I don't really have a favourate Star Trek Movie. I didn't much like Nemesis because they killed Data! Similar to the end of Wrath of Khan, with them killing a firm fan favourate
Cinemaddiction
My girlfriend, when she saw that, nearly wept, but you know, they've always got his clone, in B-4.
pr1983
b-4 will never be the same as data...
first contact and wrath of kahn... first contact was a proper big budget star trek, the way it should be produced nowadays...
that is if they ever make another one...
eleveninches
But he downloaded himself into B4, didn't he?
So data still exists within the other bot.
WOK was like the ESB of the star trek films. IT was the darkest and the best of all of them
kanis
My favorite startrek movie would be all the ones starring the original crew except for the motion picture and the final frontier and the next gen ones are cool and killing data off was a bad idea

He downloaded his memories. B4 would, and never will be the same. As I believe was stated in the film.

I don't really like the movies..I had high hope for 'First Contact' and 'Nemesis' but I didn't really care for them either.
I really really hope they are planning a star trek voyager movie..I think they could do lot with that.

Loved StarTrek Generation
PVS
'wrath of khan', 'first contact', 'undiscovered country', and 'the voyage home' when im in a silly mood.

voyager? seriously?
imo voyager killed star trek... every part of it was flawed imo...
SpikeSpiegel
Same here.
TNG was my favourate, then Enterprise ('caus of the Quantum Leaping Scott Bakula), then the original series, DS9, then Voyger.
Guess I'm a Trekker as opposed to a Trekkie.
eleveninches
DS9 was the BEST STAR TREK EVER!!!!
THe great thing about ds9 was that the charachters were set on a station in one place, so they developped the charachters and relationships a lot more. The other star trek series's episodes almost always had the plot based around a guest charachter, who would come onto the show, threaten the crew, and be defeated. On ds9 however, they mostly did away with guest charachters, concentrating on the charachter development of the main charachters.
DS9 is better than any other ST series because of one thing: CHARACHTER DEVELOPMENT.
I dont think any of the other seires had any one enemy that was the bad guy throughout all of their run on star trek, bbut DS9 had loads (dukat/weyoun/female shapeshifter/kai winn) that were featured a lot more than the bad guys on other st incarnations.
eleveninches
Apparently, there is supposed to be a curse on ST films, which makes all of the even numbered films (2,4,6,8,10) good, and which makes all of the odd numbered films (1,3,5,7,9) bad.
PVS
well that curse was broken with insurrection and nemesis, 2 consecutive sucky movies.
pr1983
imo ds9 was the best... the dominion war arc being one of the best pieces of sci fi television ever written...
eleveninches
I loved the DS9 war (from half way through series 5, up to series 7).
I even have season 7 on DVD.
DS9 developed the charachters so much that you actually cared about what happenned to them.
I think it got far better when they introduced Worf at the start of season 4, and by that time, the charachters had been developped a lot more
kanis
Voyager was one of the best star trek series's ever it owned the ass off the next generation, Voyager, deep space nine and the original series are the best.

seriously for me if it wasn't for voyager I never would have started watching star trek....allot of people didn't like there over use of the borg...but why not use the borg to the fullest?
sorry you hate that show but it actually was top notch.
deep space nine and then TNG for me...Jean-Luc Picard
is the shizzle
ragesRemorse
Star treck 4 was my favorite. Considering there are only three good movies out of all of them, it wasnt a hard choice. 1 was boring. 2 was astounding. 3 robbed people. 4 went back to the star trek stories. 5 was just silly. 6 was beating a dead horse that had potential. 7 obviously had to be done, meeting of the two captains which was pulled off in a plausible story. 8 was poorly written. 9 was just sad, and 10 was actually witnessing star trek sitting on the street corner begging for money.
eleveninches
DS9 is THE BEST DAMN TREK SHOW EVER!!!
ragesRemorse
no way, Enterprise reins supreme.
PVS
how the hell do you say 'first contact' was poorly written?
that is one of the best ST films second only to wrath of kahn.

star trek was on a high when deep space nine aired, its the culmination of so much work, it perfected the star trek formula imo...
everyone was happy to see the borg in voyager, myself included, but then what happens... they go and forget years of star trek history and make janeway the one 'who wrote the book' on the borg...
utter bullshit...
i don't even like picard but patrick stewart played the tortured captain in first contact to perfection...
look at voyager, the crew, the writing, the set pieces... everything just felt... cheap...
the kazon were in it for two years, two f*cking years with one of the worst trek villains ever...
then the borg... oh sweet crap...
unimatrix zero? no... the borg queen? been done already... and way better...
species 8472 were actually half decent... they disappeard...
the hirogen... decent, but a world war 2 episode? why not wolf 359 or something a bit more interesting?
imo janeway is the most unlikeable captain in star treks history...

The characters left much to be desired for a star trek movie. I appreciated the simplicity of the plot, but it too felt uninspirational and rushed.

star trek is an acquired taste i'll admit...
generations was good, as was wrath of kahn and voyage home, kirk is something special when he's in star trek... the guy is a legend...
first contact was good to me because i loved next generation... the plot wasn't the greatest i'll admit, but the writing and performances were great imo...

Which out of the ten Star Trek films do you like the best? Feel free to post your comments and don`t forget to vote. My personl favourite Star Trek film is Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
SnakeEyes
First Contact is my personal favorite.
I like the TNG crew the best and I like the Borg best (as a villain).
pr1983
I'd have to agree... i grew up watching tng, and first contact was awesome...
wrath of kahn is probably a better movie though... shatner gets alot of stick but the guy has his moments...
undiscovered country was also pretty good...
Ushgarak
Yeah, I think Wrath of Khan has to go down as the best movie in terms of pace, plotting and characters. Undiscovered Country was surprisingly good after the franchise seemed to be taking a nosedive with Final Frontier.
First Contact was alright, but it really was just zappy, with silly bits like killing Borg in the holodeck. It was more like a Star Wars film without the mysticism.
I really think the TNG film franchise never got properly up to speed.
Interesting to note that Gene Roddenberry didn't like Wrath of Khan...

I have not seen the Undiscovered Country yet. Is it any good? I have only seen Star Trek 2, 5, 7, 8 and 10.
Mr Parker
The Voyage Home is my favorite one.The main reason is its a movie that the CASUAL moviegoer can watch and enjoy even if they are not a star trek fan where the other trek films, you got to be a die hard trekkie to be able to enjoy it.

It also builds a plot bridge between the original series and TNG.

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered is a great movie, my favorite of the bunch. Great story, incredible acting, perhaps the most deliciously evil villain (Chang), the best space battle of all the films, and finally a great sendoff for the whole cast. This movie worked beautifully all around.

DS9 imo was the last great star trek series, and would be an awesome movie, as long as they managed to get the whole crew back together...

They would definitely have to get the whole crew. Other wise it wouldn't be as good as it was. I hate it when they substitute a character with another actor, what the heck they think that we don't remember what the original looked like
To see the Defiant in action again would be great. Kicking Ass and Taking Names.
vintageSW77
Star Trek IV...though they should have stuck with having Eddie Murphy in it.
I just think IV was a fun movie...Undiscovered Country was another goodie too.
WrathfulDwarf
Just to be practical I'll say all of those are pretty much my favorites. The Wrath of Khan is most popular because of the character. A pure super intellectual like Khan trying to match wits with Kirk. Plus the death of spock? Excellent ingredients to make this film the most known.
Arashi13
Star Trek IV was definitely the best. Great story and it captured the spirit of the tv show.

The idea for the new film sounds good.
Ushgarak
So, let's see why some aren't scoring!
The Motion Picture. Hmmm. Ten minute pans around the Enterprise do not a movie make. This one suffered badly from over focus on the effects (WAY more than modern Star Wars ever did!) and the kind of half-use of the planned characters from the originally planned new tv series that never happened (even though they re-used the Commander when they created Riker, which is why he is so much like Decker from this film.
No decent bad guy, no decent battles... nice to see everyone again, but basically the other films just trashed it.
The Search for Spock? Hmm. Christopher Lloyd makes a good performance as the first proper bad guy Klingon of the post-Original Series times. So the villain is ok, and the drama of the destruction of the Enterprise is ok, and Kirk gets some good fights. But... well, it is all so much about simply undoing the great drama at the end of II, that it all looks like a fairly pointless runaround.
The Final Frontier? Well... because it is cack, basically. "What would God... want... with a... star-ship?" Also a continuity nightmare with flying to the centre of the Galaxy so fast. Ok, to qualify... no decent bad guy, not much decent drama, silly plot. There.
Generations? Ok, someone HAS voted for this... so in fairness the first 30 minutes are fine. The middle part is a bit flabby, and then nice as it is to see Kirk again... the rest is a half-written illogical mess. Check your script. Oddly enough, the final TNG episode suffered from similar continuity problems, and would have suffered even more if Patrick Stewart had not pointed them out. When the lead actor has to tell the writers that the script is bust, then something is wrong. The same attitude applied here.
Insurrection? Because everyone forget it almost immediately. In its defence, its actually more of a Star Trek film than First Contact, which was an out and out action movie. But Insurrection just seems a little ireelevant; a film length tv episode. May as well have just kept making more tv episodes!
And Nemesis? Because it was a crushing disappointment. The trailer was exciting, the film was awful, and combined with the failure of Enterprise is part of what pretty much killed the franchise off for now.
I do hope it makes a triumphant return, but these things can easily go wrong.
Scarecrow756
I quite liked Star Trek Genarations, its my third favourite Star Trek film after First Contact which is my second favourite Star Trek film. But nothing beats Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan, my favourite Star Trek film.
Scarecrow756
So what does everyone think of the fact that there might be a new Star Trek film.

I think a movie would be good. But I think it should be with TNG, DS9, and Voyager. Not with Kirk, we all know how Generations was.

i think in relative terms, yes...
i liked parts of generations, but one part really pissed me off... they've fought the borg several times before, and learned how to change their shield frequency, but when a klingon bird of prey finds their shield frequency, they do nothing but make an arse of it, eventually destroying what was a fine ship...

What was wrong with Nemesis?
I absolutely loved the villain to me he was by far one of the coolest Star Trek villains of all. Don't get me wrong I also loved Khan but, I just couldn't get enough of a clone being portrayed the way I believe they should be. As who you would be if you lived there life! I will agree there were several elements that didn't quite fit a Star Trek film (What the hell is cool about a go-cart to people in the 24th century???) but, there were allot of truly interesting parts. I loved the end, I mean how much do you have to hate someone to pull your self through a few feet of metal bar in your chest just to try and strangle them?

Well, yours is a very minority opinion, which is the most objective way to say what was wrong with it. A flop both with fans and at the box office.
It was entirely uninspired and boring, really. Failed to keep any kind of worthwhile dramatic pace.

Agreed...
the clone, to me, was poorly executed, the continuity errors that only a trekkie would notice (so being one, i noticed em), and of course what happened at the end...
i thought it started off fine, the wedding part was decent enough imo...
Bicnarok
The wrath of Kahn was the best imo.
Admiral Akbar
I dont see why people enjoyed The Wrath of Khan so much...I nearly fell asleep watching it. I did however enjoy Star Trek Insurrection and First Contact.
Ushgarak
It has the right elements of drama, suspense, action, emotion and decent characterisation including the best bad guy out of all the films.
So one has to wonder about the mindset of someone who likes Trek but actively finds that film boring.

There is one particular moment that just HAS to be mentioned when talking about Wrath of Khan. And I'm pretty sure you know what that moment is:
Kirk: "KKKHHHHAAAANNNN!!!!!"

I should have mentioned...I'm a TNG fan of ST not a fan of all the others. There was something about TNG which made me very interested in it.

Generations is the best - it had Kirk and Picard together, but great movie on its own, it was something magical about it. Because of this movie my love for Star Trek started.

Being a SW fan, I never had much use for Star Trek.
But I liked TNG on tv.
Generations got me started on the films.

2. Wrath of Khan

4. Undiscovered Country
