BackFire349
requiem for a dream.

wicker_man
My personal favourite movie soundtracks are:

Austin Powers: TSWSM & Resident Evil OST

alic88
TERMINATOR 2

GABRIEL05
LOTR, Star Wars, Psycho. My new favorite is KILL BILL. The soundtrack rocks. It's like spaghetti western meets traditional japanese folk music.

Thing_1
I like Queen of the Damned soundtrack.

BackFire349
queen of the damned doesn't count as a movie.

julibug
Lord of the Rings ... is my favorite soundtrack. I also like the Harry Potter soundtracks, Back to the Future, A.I., Pirates of the Carribean. I'm most likely going to appreciate anything by John Williams or Danny Elfman. I also like the City of Angels soundtrack, Spiderman. O Bro. Where Art Thou, and the list could just go on and on! I really like movie scores, if they're good.

finti
The Lost Boys

Evil Dead
"queen of the damned doesn't count as a movie."

It's official..........I'm starting a BackFire349 fan club.........

loserib
the crow part one had a great soundtrack
and so does freddy vs jason
ttcsm

finti
laughing out loud laughing out loud laughing out loud laughing out loud havent seen it though and really doubt I will

julibug
oh, yeah! that soundtrack rocks. and, i almost forgot - the rocky horror picture show - "let's do the timewarp again!"

Thing_1
Queen of the Damned is a movie...It's not a good one but it is a movie. The soundtrack is good

loserib
the only reason the soundtrack is any good is becuese the lead singer from korn got other people to sing on it if it would have been all him it would have not been ass good

LeAtHerRFace
Freddy vs Jason and Bad Boys 2!

BackFire349
Queen of the Damned is a long, stupid and irrelevent music video for little wannabe gothic kids, who think any movie with vampires is cool.

You could get the same mental stimulation watching a toilet flush for 90 minutes, probably more so.

GABRIEL05
Yeah DeNiro. The Casino soundtrack has this great song on it called WALK ON THE WILDSIDE by Jimmy Smith. Thats one bad motha...

LindsIsTightK
The Titanic soundtrack as some good classical music. I like the Cruel Intentions soundtrack along with The Matrix Reloaded and 8 Mile soundtracks myself.

BackFire349
Titanic soundtrek has celine deon as their main musician. Case closed, she sucks

LindsIsTightK
Celine Dion has one song on that soundtrack, I hardly call that being their main musician.

BackFire349
It's the main song in the movie, and it embodies everything crappy within said movie.

LindsIsTightK
Yes well, some people would tend to disagree with you there. For example: me.

BackFire349
Some people are wrong. It wasn't to bad untill i heard it 9000 times a day in commercials, on the radio, and on stupid pretentious award shows. By the 1,000,000th listen, i realized just how generic and simple the song was, and thus fitting with the crappy movie perfectly.

Killer
QUEEN OF THE DAMNED!
The Crow
Resident Evil

BackFire349
Again, Queen of the Damned is not a movie. It is an MTV propoganda filled music video.

Killer
again
"blah blah blah blah blah"

Thing_1
Nobody said anything about the movie just the soundtrack which is actually good.

BackFire349
Yeah, just as i thought, no defense for Queen of the Damned. Never heard anyone able to defend that movie, because it sucks so much ass

Thing_1
It's actually ok if u have read the book but the movie should be called The Vampire Lestat cuz that's what it's based on.

Killer
I happen to LOVE QOTD but i am not going to wast my time telling you how much it doesn't suck, there is no point.
you are not going to change your mind... you have seen the movie, made your point of NOT LIKING IT AT ALL and i respect that...

so... anything esle?

BackFire349
It was so bad. The worst movie I have ever seen. The only people who liked it are people who have jumped on the stupid vampire bandwagon and didn't notice how awful, pretentious, and just plain stupid it was. just a big long wannabe gothic music video. I couldn't even sleep through it cuz I was trying so hard. I'd love to hear you tell me why it didn't suck though, I'm really interested, since I've never heard an actual defense for that piece of crap, other then "it had vampires, i like vampires", which actually isn't a defense, just proving my point that the only people who like it are the vampire possy who like anything involving vampires, no matter how mindless or stupid it may be. (case and point, Underworld).

So please, tell me why it didn't suck.

Thing_1
Vampires actually aren't that interesting but the books were very good and that's why i liked qotd.I actually understood what was going on.U have to read the books and maybe u have but still it's not as bad as u make it sound. If that's ur opinion though, then that's great cuz I probably don't like some of the movies u enjoy watching.

BackFire349
I am not the only person who thinks queen of the damned is unbearable in it's crapulance.

Killer
I don't know you
I am not intrested in arguing with you over somethin so lame
and i am not going to start on "why i love it"

call me a wus or a .. whatever you want... but i don't obsess over such little things in life

BackFire349
so no defense for it in other words. As expected.

Killer
if it makes you happy
if you feel you have made a point
THEN SURE!

BackFire349
Well, I have made a point, I don't "feel" I've made a point. I have pointed out that no one who likes queen of the damned can logically defend it's crappiness.

Killer
back to the subject!

Zoolander... it had Orgy- faces in it! big grin

plenTpak52
spiderman. Just wish Chad Kroeger wasn't on it.

shadow link
LOTR for sure, and maybe matrix 1 and beautiful mind

I was going to mention that wonderful score!! Yann Tiersen creates fabulous music for films.

Any Quentin Tarantino film soundtracks, Kill Bill vol 1 and 2 being my favourites out of all the films.

Any Ennio Morricone scores.

Donnie Darko score is fantastic, and the soundtrack is excellent also. Ahhh Head over Heels.

Also agree with Underworld soundtrack, some great songs on there, the score music is also great to listen to.

I like lots of score music more than soundtracks, any by Graeme Revell, Marco Beltrami, those are two of my favourites. Revells Chronicles of Riddick is a wonderful score, as well as his score for Freddy Vs Jason. Which had a decent soundtrack as well.

Requiem For A Dream is another favourite one of mine, excellent depressing music, some of the remixes are grand as well.

Brotherhood of the Wolf has fantastic score music, eclectic.

*Georgina_A*

Garden State soundtrack has some great songs on, especially from Frou Frou. Love the band. Think The Shins were on it too, another good band.

Anne Dudley's music for American History X is worth the listen.

How could I forget Tim Burton film scores by Danny Elfman, and any others by Elfman like Spiderman.

Another depressing score is 21 Grams, brilliant.

Most Bond scores, A View To A Kill is a favourite.

David Lynch film scores.

Lots really.

4. Rock N Roll ****** - Patti Smith
5. Sweet Jane - Cowboy Junkies

Bob Dylan, Nine Inch Nails and Dr. Dre on the same album. Genius.

Sith Master X
The Matrix Reloaded had an awesome soundtrack.

ElectricBugaloo
The Shins had two songs on it.

The Iron and Wine cover of The Postal Service's "Such Great Heights" is quite possibly the best track of the year.

BOPRecruit 16
The Punisher and Daredevil soundtracks were great. Loved the Daredevil soundtrack, but hate the movie!

Wolf Dog
Ghost Dog Soundtrack

It's practically a Wu Tang album. "Raise Your Swords" is the highlight of the soundtrack and was used really well in the movie.

Wouldn't call it genius but it was pulled off well, I agree.

Dre is no stranger to NIN, he worked on The Fragile.

No, it was actually bad from the first listen.

The original Batman film (Burton) had a great Prince soundtrack album- also has the amazing Danny Elfman theme.

Alpha Centauri
Danny Elfman is actually really epic. I think he got mentioned in my other thread, not too sure.

Harry Gregson-Williams does some great soundtrack work.

Punisher

Since then, the comicbook movie soundtracks haven't been as good, but those are my favs.

I think the soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever is the most successful movie soundtrack of all time. I don't know for sure, but I'm thinking it is.

confused

Ya Krunk'd Floo
All of Wes Anderson's movies have great soundtracks: Rushmore finishes on 'Ohh La La' by The Faces; The Royal Tenenbaums features The Clash, Ramones, The Velvet Underground AND Bob Dylan; while The Life Aquatic manages to mix Bowie covers sang in Portuguese and 'Search And Destroy' by The Stooges. That's class.

Tarantino also mixes a nice line in soundtracks, as do the Coen brothers. Oh, and special mention should go to Ghost Dog: Way Of The Samurai - the whole soundtrack is put together by RZA. It's dope, yo, ese, homie, bro, etc.

el_barto
The Walker and Grosse Pointe Blank soundtracks are really good.

Axeron
I've always been a fan of disney soundtracks.

My all time favorite is High School Musical. I really think its the awesomest soundtrack ever. It's all i listen to now.
My second fav CD from Disney is Hercules.
I do have other soundtracks but they are not very "adultish". IM 14 and Im stuck in the 5-10's

BackFire
Some others I'll mention:

Requiem for a Dream (already mentioned it earlier in the thread, but might as well say it again, great music).

Oldboy

Cannibal Holocaust (say what you want about the movie, the music is amazing).

A Very Long Engagement.

Brokeback Mountain

The Shining

Platoon/Elephant Man (Both share the same main song, and said song is incredibly effective in both films)

Shawshank Redemption.

Crash (Great ambient music, really fits the atmosphere).

Sin City

Sweet Hereafter

All Tarantino films.

Palindromes

American Beauty

Amelie

Collateral

Forrest Gump

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (Again, great ambient music, fits beautifully with the film)

Paths of Glory (More or less for the song the woman sings at the end, it's quite legendary).

South Park: Bigger Longer Uncut

Team America

Braveheart.

cramunit
The Good The Bad And The Ugly is classic.
Ry Cooder's Soundtrack for Paris,Texas I like.
Phillip Glass' compisition for Koyaanisqatsi
and
Thomas Newman's score for Fried Green Tomatoes
I also like his score for The Shawshank Redemption which was mentioned in the previous post. In fact, Backfire made quite a few good picks.

papabeard

A recent addition to my list of favorite movie scores: The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
