Penelope Cruz kinda ruins it for me. Really do not like her.
But the story sounds cool and I do like Halle so going to see it

It will be another stupid psychological thriller relying on some kinda "twist" ending that anyone with a brain will be able to predict, as is the norm with thrillers today.

I like those types of thrillers. Well not the predictable part. Just the psychological thrillers with a paranormal thing.
Has to be better then The Gift well thats not difficult

I'm just sick of movies relying soley on their endings to get attention. They all do it now, and they are all either completely predictable, or else so off the wall and irrelevent to the rest of the movie that they ruin themselves.

The ending will be something ridiculous, like she really is that girl she almost hit on the road and her doctor persona was all just in her imagination, and penelope cruz will be her long lost mother, but the twist will be that she is really berries father who had a sex change or something like that.

They probably just threw in the hints at the last minute to make the movie make at least a little bit of sense.

Too many movies try to blow the audience away by throwing in an ending that is so ridiculous that it is shocking, I just can't believe people still fall for it.

If you want a good, shocking, relevent ending; watch Se7en

I kinda saw that one coming.
I just dont like the dark mood seven has. It wasnt necessary.
But great movie.
But I dont know if a movie has a twist when I go see it.

the dark mood was completely neccessary, it only emphasized the already overwhelming atmosphere and message, that the world is horrible.

Gothika was actually a pretty good movie. You're all right, there was a twist, but I liked it a lot. Maybe you should give it a try.

It was a good movie, not gonna dedicate my life to it or nothin'. but I liked it. A lil' bit through the movie ya already knew the reason why what was happin' to Halle Berry was happenin'. I give it a 6 outta 10

Well the cridicts say that it was terrible acting, halle berry yells and screems in the movie more than she does anything else, if i were to grade it, id give it a c- for effort. Or 2 stars out of 10... i highley doubt that i'll ever pay to see this movie unless i can watch it for free.

I saw it today as a first date with my new gf, I must say I wish we had decided on a better movie for our first date, it was tired, boring and pretty typical, the ending was nothing more then generic. It wasn't terrible, but it's the type of movie you'll forget that you saw in a month.

It's typical, the type of movie you'll forget about shortly after viewing, it doesn't really do anything special, unique or memorable.

it's a paranormal movie like sixth sense but sixth sense is much better. the plot is implausible. it's NOT theater-worthy but definitely DVD-worthy.

1. how the hell did grey get away with killing her husband? she DID do it. i don't think the jury will buy that she was possessed and the movie suggested that the insanity plea is out of the question

2. how can she be admitted to the same mental ward she was working in? wouldn't that be a violation of some kind like they don't put convicted policemen in the prison general population?

i know it's a movie but it bugs me when movies don't make sense.

They addressed your second complaint...they said she was there temporarily, but they are going to try to find a loophole in the rules so that she could stay there.

Scary is an over statement. The name has absolutely nothing to do with the movie, which is just a really bad, not scary mix of "Silence of the Lambs" and "The Sixth Sense".

Yes, the trailers I've seen so far makes me want to see it too.

I saw it and the ending is wierd and I can ashure you it is anything but predictable. and the way the girl looks is so frikin scary And she shaws up every were that night I didn't go to sleep thinkin she was gona attack me in my sleep so yah It was like a horror

I think its not as bad as ppl say (most ppl) but it has lots of plot wholes and it's weak. 1 or 2 cool scenes.

If you didn't know that fatass security guard was the "bad guy" from the beginning, I don't know what to tell you.

Oh Im going to see this tomorrow. I think it will be an ok film. Im not a huge fan of Penelope Cruz, however, Robert Downey Jr. is in the movie, and I like him, so...we'll see how it goes.

Pass on it. It's predictible, and most of the time doesn't make any sense. It has a bunch of "scary visuals" to make up for a lack of story.

I didn't particularly care for it. The only reason I even remember it was because it's the first movie I saw with my GF on our first date.

It was nice movie with plenty of atmosphere, but the story was very predictable and the ending quite dumb. She killed people so why didn't she go to jail? Very Hollywood ending unfortunately.

I'll rent it again, thankfully it's only $1, and I'll be back with one of my signature brutal reviews, and it will probably set everyone straight.

I agree with C-addiction and Backfire.............pass on it. A very lackluster horror film. The entire movie was predictable....extremely predictable. The only thing the movie did sucessfully was to create a dark atmosphere. The ending was a bit anti-climactic. This movie makes 13 Ghosts look like the Shining.

It was good . Quite predictable but like Evil Dead said, it successfully created a dark atmosphere.

The part with the husband was a little grotesque, like on the stairs

I only recently got to see Gothika on HBO and I really liked it. Admittedly I had pretty much figured out the ending before they got to it. I still liked all the suspense and eeriness about the movie. Fact is I would like to get the DVD for all the extra stuff. Halle was really great in the movie and Penelope was very intense. I have recommended this movie to all my friends.gathering clapping
