I'm looking for any guesses about a possible Jedi spirit to apperar in episode III to give resolution to the disappearing Jedi issue. Realizing that thete does not need to be one, I believe the film would be that much better if there was so....The most logical choice would be Qui-Gon Jin, however in my opinion for some strange reason I think its going to be Mace.

finti
I hope we are gonne be let in on the "secret" behind the jedi ghohst/spirit thing

Rogue Jedi
uh, mace is gonna be alive in ep. 3.......at least for part of it.

finti
I am betting on QGJ if any

Rogue Jedi
good bet...im with ya...damn!!!!!!

finti
yeah it worries me too RJ

Darth Hater
my money's on QGJ

MAYBE some fallen jedi at the end or some point in the movie

i also wanna see it explained....hopefully not a religious explanation

Ushgarak
Sorry, guys, but latest buzz is that Liam says he is not invovled with the film. Could be a dummy but... looks not good.

yerssot
should check again but thought that dude that did the HS chat that saw the script was pretty inconclusive about Liam Neeson being in EpIII

Ushgarak
Liam indicated otherwise in interview.

Fire
it'd rock for QGJ to make an apperance in Ep. III
QGJ rocks

mephistodesigns
i heard an interview with Liam saying he was in III. When was the interview that said he wasn't?

yerssot
darn it, must have got the wrong guy in mind, wasn't paul ends messed

Ushgarak
This isn't literal confirmation but it looks bad. Taken from TFN:

"The Toronto Sun reports:

The Star Wars franchise can no longer be taken seriously, according to one former Jedi master.
"Ummm, well, they've kind of got silly now, haven't they?" actor Liam Neeson told The Toronto Sun yesterday while doing interviews for his latest film, the forthcoming ensemble romantic comedy Love Actually.

"That last (Star Wars movie) was just pyrotechnics, you know," Neeson said of Episode II -- Attack of The Clones, lamenting that the "computerized stuff" fails to connect with either the actors or audiences.

Neeson said he expects nothing different when Episode III, in which he is not involved, is released in 2005 to complete the prequel trilogy.

Yet Neeson has no regrets about his own participation in Star Wars lore, despite feeling that he did less than stellar work in 1999 in Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace.

"The one I did, I loved working on it," he said, "and I loved working with George Lucas."

Neeson played Qui-Gon Jinn, a Jedi master knight who counsels Obi-Wan Kenobi and the young Anakin Skywalker.

"Admittedly," Neeson said with a wane smile, "we all come across as pretty wooden. But a lot of that was interacting with blue screen, which was difficult and was also a great challenge, you know, to try to make it seem as an everyday thing that (you're with) a winged beast that talks."

Blue screen is an in-studio process in which actors literally perform in front of a giant blue screen, replaced later with computerized special effects. "But listen," Neeson said, "I'm glad I did it."

Looks like we won't be seeing the ghost of Qui-Gon in Episode III."

Fire
too bad

well maybe Mace his ghost

BOB Yup its me
Ok, first off: Qui-Gon Jinn's body DID NOT dissappear, so he has no spirit. So my guess would be no spirits. Obi Wan's and Yoda's Bodies dissappeared at death, while Qui-Gon's didn't. So, I think that there will be no spirits.

BOB Yup its me
Even if Quit-Gon did come as a ghost, it would create a MONSTER of a plot-hole. Obi-Wan's body in ANH dissappeared and Yoda's body in ROTJ dissappeared at death. Qui-Gon's didn't. So the body must dissapper to make a spirit. More than likely no ghost.

plenTpak52
It's me. I am a Jedi who died in a past life, and I will appear in the third Star Wars movie.

Darth Hater
well there go's my money

though, they could be just tryin to throw us off

we'll see in 2005

DINO
there is no doubt that ep3 will feature a jedi in spirit form!

finti
so all those who claim they are haunted just has to check if the body that haunts them dissapeared when they died. I f they didnt they must be dreaming roll eyes (sarcastic)

there must be a reason why we heard QGJ`s voice in AOTC though

Ushgarak
We always knewe that QGJ's body not disapopearing was an interesting development if he was going to appear as a spirit- as Finti says, his voice in AOTC, mentiojned by GL as part of the whole ghost 'thing', raised interesting questions.

There was a discussion bout this in another forum and i can't find my response so here's a summary: I don't think disappearing and being in spirit form are dependant on each other. I think disappearing is based on an old legends of Buddhist monks (just going on Lucas' own influences for the Jedi and their practices) who were able to make themselves die once they were old and felt ready. The only people we've seen disappear on screen are Yoda and Kenobi. Yoda was sick, had the prep time, and disappeared. Obi-wan stepped back from Vader and disappeared BEFORE Vader's saber could touch him, knowing he could then come back in spirit form to help Luke. Anakin was in spirit form but did not disappear (at least not on film). If he did, it sure took him a long time. But, i think that Anakin, like Qui-gon, was killed suddenly in a weakened state (as far as ability to use the force is concerned) and as such did not disappear. Now, I think that spirits are an entirely separate concept. I think that a Jedi would only come back if they had a reason to. For a thousand years, there was peace in the galaxy, which would explain why Yoda was shocked to hear Qui-gon's voice in II. He didn't know about it because no one had needed to do it. Qui-gon possibly had a reason to come back to watch Anakin. But, as far as what we've seen onscreen, Obi-wan came back as a spirit to help Luke. Yoda, Anakin, and Obi-wan also revealed themselves to Luke at the end of ROTJ as a kind of thanks for the help and redeeming anakin thing. In EU (not official canon, but this example follows these rules, its just for example) Kenobi said he could no longer visit Luke mainly because Luke didn't need the extra help anymore. Kenobi's work was done. Anakin revealed himself to Leia to ask forgiveness-meaning a purpose in returning to resolve a problem left after death.
So in short, one Jedi who came back didn't disappear-Anakin. So I don't think they're connected. i think its just coincidence that we've only seen jedi disappear and THEN come back. but the ones we've seen come back needed to. We've only seen these phenomenon affect two jedi. I'm sure Lucas has a pretty good idea of their history. These circumstances have most likely affected other Jedi at some point in Star Wars history, so we can't make assumptions based on what SEEMS to have happened to two Jedi.

Darth Hater
there must be a reason why we heard QGJ`s voice in AOTC though

Lyn
I hope he comes back in Ep3 as a spirit or something...

Darth Hater
same here

Lyn
happy

Ushgarak
I know it is not for certain, but Rick McCallum, Steve Sansweet and the website all say that Anakin disappered before returning as a spirit. We have certain indications that they think this as it is is GL's opinion, which has influenced our own thinking on this.

It also seems more logical that the two are connected- Vader's obvious surprise at Obi-Wan doing it tying in neatly with him not knowing about the ghost form as Obi-Wan meant with his 'more powerful than you can possibly imagine' line, as GL mentions often.

QGJ always cocked that up of course. But if he is NOT in the film- a crying shame- then it is not a problem any more.

My theory was that QGJ was a special case as he was pioneering it.

GL does seem to make it clear that the whole Jedi spirit thing has not happened before.

mephistodesigns
yeah, it all comes down to whether or not Qui-gon's in three. We heard his voice though, so you can at least come back in some capacity without having disappeared.

mephistodesigns
and with today's new spoilers, i don't know where he's gonna get the time to even explain that, if at all, and he's supposedly explaining a little of the Sith's background.

Darth Hater
i just wanna know why we hear him in ep2

Lyn
I don't know WHY we heard him but it was very effective...

Lames.s.
This is why in the opening I said if there is one I think it would be cool for it to be Mace.
