well the matrix was created by the machines to control the humans

you forgot about how man created the machine then machine ruled and then humans were pushed into the ground and how machines study the humnans bodys and how they grow humans to get energy and then they plug the humans into a fake world to get the body funtioning properly so they can get nrgy what does the source mean when neo is talking to him in the room with the screens

Okay..... has anyone watched "The Animatrix" or read any of the comics?? What happened, for those uninformed (and please correct me if I am missing anything) is that humans created machines. A certain machine (the little house helper with the cute bowtie) killed his owners and started a revolt of sorts, making all of humanity lash out and kill the machines they created. Some machines survived and created their own civilization, much more powerful than the entire human world. The machine dignitaries for this successful civilization come about to the World Summit Meeting (or whatever its called) and ask to be joined with humans. Rather than take them in, humanity again lashes out at them unknowing that the machines are more powerful than humans. The humans scortch the sky (make it black) but the machines don't need sunlight as a source of energy. They experiment on humans and find out how they "work" and make them into the fields of fetus you see now.

The "Source" I believe you speak of is the Architect. He really speaks cryptically, if you ask me. Yes, he says that this is the 6th matrix and it will fall as all the others have. He strives for perfection in making the Matrix and nearly had it perfect at one point, or so he says..... I don't much believe there have been that many matricies. I think it's a program the machines created to make Neo believe there is no way to save all of humanity as they know it.

A method of control. Just as simple as that. Not only how it is portrayed in the movie. We are in various different types of matrixes. It is a design destined to put an order into things, and once something fails and gets out of control, catastrophe occurs.

Its the world that has been pulled over your eyes.

i dont think the architect is the source, although we have brought up this thought in another thread and it is beginning to sway me...however, the matrix is a program, a simulation designed to keep humans ignorant of the truth, that they are being used, as power stations.

The Martix is like the world you see and are used to. You are pre-programmed to do certain things in a specific way. You don't see any other things. You only see and believe what have been told and shown to you. Like Spyder said, the wool that is pulled over your eyes. You can get out of this if you free your mind. You can be whatever you want to be. You can beat the fücking system.

ergo what if the system can not be beaten? or doesn't mind be "beaten" because its a system of protection for itself from human egos... or something...

The Matrix is a computer game. It is a game which everyone in the world plays everyday. It is what we now try to assimilate in these online multiplayer games, like that Star Wars one. Making a character... living the life. People fail to see the same thing is outside their window that is on their Xbox. (Excluding the game which don't do this.. obviously).
