Why do some editions call the Philosopher's Stone the Sorceror's Stone? I first learned of the Philosopher's Stone when I was seven, from the Alchemist's Cat, by Robin Jarvis. The Elixir of life is a completely separate alchemical myth - and something I wouldn't touch with a bargepole!

philosopher's stone is the uk version, but it was thought that the title the sorceror's stone would sell better in the united states, so they changed the title for the u.s. versions
