Just want to let you guys know that I am trying to keep things civil in here as well as acceptable for all ages. Try to keep your language within a "G" rating. I've been trying to catch & edit any unacceptable words. I want you guys to feel free to discuss anything musically related - even negative opinions - just keep it civil. If you encounter any problems, feel free to pm me to discuss it.

Besides the point of this thread was to stop things before they went any farther with excessive arguing and name calling. As well as remind everyone of the "G" rating. Sheesh - I would think you guys would be backing me up here.

Also, please don't take my questions as a sign that I disagree with you're new rules, I actually completely agree with them, I simply didn't know what would be considered "G Rated". G Rated to some people would be editing borderline swear words, like hell, damn, and crap. But for some it might only be editing the big swear words.

I havn't seen a whole lot of swearing towards one another in here.......I know alot of the curse words pop up when discussing songs and lyrics. 99.99% of all song lyrics have atleast one of those words in it......so when they're posted, so are the naughty words.

On the bye and bye.........is c--- considered too harsh a word? It along with p---- is borderline.

It is not "gay" - it is the rules of the forum. I didn't make the rule - it was given to me to enforce. The language I have been editing has not been in any lyrics - only in people's posts in reference to another member or artist or song - but not in quoted lyrics. I hope your post was a genuine question and not in sarcasm.

Funny. My 11 yr old son asked me the same question a couple of weeks ago. I think he heard it on tv. So, whether you're being sarcastic or not, I know most people who come to this site already see and hear the type of language that we are asking you not to use. That doesn't mean we have to use it here. It's nice to have a "crap-free" discussion area.

If you have a vocabulary of more then cuss words, you should have no trouble speaking your mind without getting in trouble. simply don't cuss...it's not a hard concept to grasp

I can agree with the general rule against swearing, this is an all ages forum..........but, does the mod even know what a curse word is?

The word ass was edited.........if I call somebody an ass, it is not a curse word. An ass is a stubborn ignorant animal........so are alot of people in these forums. I realize the word can be used in a lude context........and those instances should be edited/deleted....but not all.

Same for words like pussy. If I call Backfire a pussy.......I am stating that he is a weak little person, just as the animal is. The only way this word can be used ludely is in a sexual context........as slang for vagina.

Other words like ***** are also not supposed to be used. What? As a noun, it cannot be used as a curse. It is the equivelant of calling a male a dog. Some women call all men dogs.....some men call all women bitches......there is no difference. The only way this word can be used as a curse is when being used as an adjective.

I think it is retarded that the moderator, or former moderator, has laid down a rule that these words can not be used at all.......instead of saying not to use them in lude circumstances.

You can hear the word pussy in loony tunes cartoons......but can't say it here. You can read the word ass in the bible......but not here. That is just dumb.

I'm glad I post primarily in the horror forum where this isn't an issue (there are no G rated horror movies)...........even if it were, the horror forum mod is intelligent enough to know that words take different conotations when used in different circumstances. The mod of this forum just seems ignorant to the fact that some words that CAN be used as curses are not curse words themselves.....and actually have very commonly used meanings that are not curses.

I have a difficult schedule right now, and am unable to devote the time necessary to modding a specific forum. I will still be around, and hopefully will be in a modding capacity again soon.

As to Evil Dead's comments - that is the most ridiculous rambling I've ever heard. Of course I am aware that those words are acceptable within the correct context. However, within the context they have been used here, they are not acceptable. I shouldn't even be responding! How absurd.

Hmmm. Well, the truth is that the rules on this forum are that we are not to be bashing other members to start with. So, whether you are bashing in 2 yr old language or bashing in very adult terms, you are breaking the rules. It is how it is. To tell you the truth, I had really lightened up recently on editing posts. I had let things relax a little. I'm not sure why the attack came once I stopped being mod of this specific discussion. If it makes you and Evil Dead feel better, well, then go ahead. I would really rather you spend your time posting in actual music discussions, though.

It's quite unfair to get upset with Julibug here fella's, after all, she's only enforcing the general rules of this forum. The fact is, all forums are supposed to be G-Rated, simply most of the mods don't care enough to enforce it (myself included).

While I don't necessarily agree that it should be G-Rated...she was given the power to run this area of the forum how she see's fit, and you people giving her a hard time is not only irrelevant, because she is no longer mod, but it's also quite immature.

Just don't use bad words in the music forum, if you must swear, go to the horror forum, I don't care if you do it there.

Go back to the first page Juli.........I posted some words and asked if they were okay to say because they were borderline. You edited them. Go back in read......I didn't even use them in sentences so they could not have been used in a lude manner. I simply posted the words. I think if you have a G string, then there is some attempt at keeping anything bad from being let out, so in my opinion, yes. and i apologize for my swear words (oops, I said the s word again), and i'll do my best to keep from putting them in my posts.

I agree that we should be allowed to express ourselves, but some younger children may see those posts. And in my own opinion, they shouldn't be here anyways, but hey, stuff happens, and it's beyond our control. So out of common courtesy for those who happen to be minors and viewing this site, just try to keep it clean. For all we know, there may be a way to sue the site for kids seeing this, so it's probably KMC's attempt to avoid that also. And what happens if they get sued, we may lose this site.

-shrugs- I never payed attention to the rules in the first place and I never got in trouble so I'm not worried.

Here's the deal. If you guys want to discuss the rules, please pm Raz. I think it's safe to say that this area will probably be allowed PG-13 now. If I ever end up modding here in the future, I will be fine with that. I would simply enforce whatever rules were set by the admin.

You have to keep in mind that every mod is different, while some may be more leniant or simply lazy to enforce the language policy (like myself, the horror forum is basically a whole verbal garbage heap...plus I simply don't really think language is a very big deal), some other mods will be strict about language because it is their personal feelings that come into conflict because they simply don't like bad language.
