It would be cool to see a re-release of The Thing in theaters for the 25th anniversary. It could have reedited special effects and some of the deleted scenes from the dvd could reinserted; especially the dvds deleted scene where the dog is running away from the camara in the original ending. Its a good set up for a sequel, after all it worked for Alien.

nooo no special effects. Just sharper picture quality and revamped color (the THX treatment). Lovely idea by the way, I'd love to see it if they re-released it

They should start re-releasing old movies, rather then destroying them by remaking them.

I agree. Alien today was terrific.

I am not a huge fan of The Thing, even thought I normally love John carpenters films, and I know this is thought to be one of his best.

I liked john's remake alot.
