LONDON (Reuters) - Buckingham Palace has staged a special Changing of the Guard dedicated to victims of the terror attacks on the United States.
In an unprecedented move on Thursday, a military band played the U.S. national anthem during the sombre ceremony, attended by the Duke of York and U.S. ambassador to London William Farish.
Hundreds of mourners observed a two-minute silence under a grey sky as a mark of respect to the thousands feared dead after Tuesday's kamikaze plane crashes into the World Trade Centre in New York and the Pentagon in Washington.
