Did anyone watch the new Star Trek show tonight? I thought it was really kewl, Scott Bakula makes a good captain!

I can't watch Star Trek. My roomate last year tried to make me watch it, and I just couldn't get into it.

I've seen the promos for the show. It's a rip off of the prequel trillogy. Lucas will probably sue someone.

I'm really looking forward to Enterprise. I've been a big Star Trek fan since I was really ikkle.

Unfortunately some of Deep Space Nine Season 6 & 7 plus about 98% of Voyager really ruined it for me.

I loved all the movies, though "The Final Frontier" was terrible.

I am hoping that Enterprise can get back to the parts of Star Trek that I think were truest to Roddenberys vision.
The Original Series - Though somewhat camp, that was more a sign of the times than bad production values.
Wrath of Khan - The Ultimate "Classic" Star Trek movie
The Voyage Home - Awesome
The Next Generation (Seasons 3-7) - Some duff episodes but generally well driven and inspired.
DS9 - The one I miss the most
As far as saying that Enterprise i "ripping off" the Prequel trilogy, what is that based on. Only about 4 or 5 season one show premises have been released and we have only seen 1/3 of the PT, How can you make a reasonable comparison unless it is prejudiced by a previous dislike...

I think Scott Bakula is a brilliant choice for the role of Captain Archer as well. He was BRILLIANT in Quantum leap.

I think the biggest problem people may have is reconciling the fact that this an era before the Original Series, TNG, DS9 & VGR. The ship is going to look better than the Original NCC-1701. But the NX-01 model has been developed in an era of much more sophisticated special effects and people need to remember that.

Anyway, I'm done, for now...

I was gonna watch it (sorry, fin) but forgot it was on and fell asleep early. It was a long day. Guess I only need 8 more excuses and I'll have enough for a t-shirt.

Besides, it's like a lot of shows; Some people love em and some people hate em. Me, I love Star Trek, but obviously I respect your right not to.

I agree with RC so much it is frightening. I pretty much ditto everything he says except my two movies of choice would be II and VI (The Undiscovered Country), not II and IV.

Here's something strange, I'm never allowed to watch ST when me and Mrs.Mechmoggy are eating cus all the alien faces make her feel funny!

I've been trying the same ploy when she wants to watch Corrie but so far there's nobody that ugly on there since Spider the Eco Warrior left.

They wear those viking horn hats everyday in Norway, so I guess it's like Haloween there every day! That's why they dont celebrate, honest to god!

Actually, we do celebrate halloween in Norway now. Not a lot, though, and probably not the same way americans do. People dress up spookily and go out and get nicely drunk. This year I plan to dress up as Gene Simmons. Originally, me and my three roomies were to dress up as all the four members of Kiss, but then one of the girls had to go for Lara Croft instead. I don't see how that would work as a halloween outfit, but she will look good.

Expect to see a lot of Darth Mauls running around, possibly consumed by the dark side of alcohol.

LAst year we hand loads of Scream masks on our doorstep.

Speak for yourself. Every year for the last 4 or 5 it has been getting bigger and bigger where I live. We had LOADS of Trick or Treaters and lots more people had decorations and pumpkins and stuff.

Every year my parents go to some fancy Halloween party uptown, and I'm stuck at home handing out candy to those ungrateful spoiled children, who dont even live in my zip code! I hate Halloween!!!!

That post does not help in your fight to convince me that living with your parents gives you more freedom than working and owning your own home.

More freedom? Not my house. I have to work and work and work on it. At home my dad did all that.

For Halloween I'm going as RC, I'll color my hair white, draw some wrinkles on my face, tuck a pillow under my shirt, hold a small credit card statement and I'll walk around the street preaching to little children the importance of owning your home and having a steady job

Boots are very stylish, they look really good with suits! When I get into real estate, I'll wear my Armani suits with boots, I'll drive a big Cadillac and I'll tip my Stetson to all the pretty ladies as I drive by! How many Norweigans can say that?
