The Twins {Again}

Noola
I don't think that this has been addressed in any other thread, so I'm starting a new one on it {hope that's okay, oh great moderator}

The actors who portrayed the twins have repeatedly said that they filmed fight scenes with Trinity and Neo.

I can understand that these may have been deleted - but thinking of the logistics, WHEN would the twins have had an opportunity to fight Trin and Neo? Okay, maybe they fought Trin after the "club hell" fight scene, but when could they have fought Neo? He was stuck in the mountains in M2, and in Limbo in M3

The Omega
Noola> A LOT of movies suffer under time-pressure these days. Cinemas want to show the big box-office ones as many times as possible.
The result: FotR and TT extended DVD's (and probably for RotK as well).
Maybe there will even be a Revolutions extended DVD. ALthough I agree. WHEN should Neo/Trin have met the twins?
Could you find a link for the statement of the actors so we can analyze it for further details? big grin Maybe it's something for TMO?

BackFire
The Twins were really over rated, never saw the big deal about them.

dave123
neo isnt in the matrix long enough to meet them

The Omega

dave123
maybe the twins didnt originally go STRAIGHT for the keymaker?

BackFire
Well that is probably because I haven't started any threads, I simply stated that I didn't see why the Twins got so much hype.

They were simply monotone albino twins that were supposedly really powerful, but oh, look at the visual twist thrown in, they have dredlocks, a hairstyle usually associated with African American's, wow, how brilliant

That statement above was a joke, the real reason I didn't like them was because they were built up to be some incredibly powerful villians in the film, but they died incredibly easily and quickly, without any real build up.

Too me, they just seemed like typical villians, not worthy of all the talk and hype they get. They coulda been cool had we actually seen a decent amount of their supposed skill, however we didn't, and the majority of their time on screen was speant driving on a freeway.

The Omega
That's the only place we know of, where Trin/Neo/Twins are in the same room. However it would seem odd, that the four of them fight, THEN the Keymaker decides to scurry off, and THEN Neo fights the rest...

However: I'd like to see WHAT the actors playing the Twins actually said. smile

dave123
maybe one of them stopped neo getting through a door at some point? or neo + trin fight them to give the keymaker a head start?

Noola
Ask and ye shall receive, oh great moderator! big grin The following is from an interview with Neil and Adrian Rayment in "Hotdog" - a respectable uk mag:

"And of course, they {the twins} go up againt our heroes - including Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Laurence Fishburne. "I have a scrap with Laurence," Neil admits. "Adrian has a particularly good scrap with Carrie-Anne, and then we both fight Keanu""

confused is all I really have to say on the matter

The Omega

Do you happen to have a link? It's not that I don't trust what you write, this is just a little peculiar. But maybe the scene was cut out? Maybe the two actors discuss scripted scenes that were later abandoned (like from M1 were Trin was supposed to've jumped onto a train before jumping through the window).

Noola
I have the mag myself, but I just noticed that someone posted a pic of the article in another thread. Go here:

http://www.killermovies.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13769&highlight=confirmation+twins

Plus - you may be right about the scene being cut at the scripting stage. That article was pretty old.

But then why would they say something that had not been confirmed?

confused indeed

pslice
there wer probably someother scenes cut that would set up a fight between the Twins, Trin, and Neo. They just werent in the movies at all

Lord Soth
I agree. Although they were cool, I didn't see what was the big deal with them. So they're deleted programs and they can go all ghosty on you: whoopdy-freakin-doo. There are lots of better, more defined characters than them

vvvrulz
> Backfire.

I guess it kinda comes down to what you expected of them. I didnt think they'd be the all powerful villians, i expected nothing more than a short cameo for entertainment's sake, which in the end they were. It would be annoying if they were the defining bad guys of the movie and were knocked off so quickly and easily.

Lord Soth
Exactly. Everybody knows that the true villain is either Agent Smith, or the Matrix itself, however you wanna look at it

gothred
I think that some people are missing the point as to why the twins are so popular. It's because they're sexy, and Agent Smith, even though he's a fantastic villan, is not sexy. the twins are sexy, cool and powerful (but not powerful enough to win). It's the same thing that happend with Darth Maul - sexy and powerful , but not relevant enough to the plot to have a bigger role and not die.
bunny

Lord Soth
Hmmm, that's a good point....

Noola
Gothred,

You thought DARTH MAUL was sexy?! GAH!

Noola
Omega, what do you think of the interview?

The Omega

JKozzy
Hmmmm... can we say Trilogy box-set with fourth special-features dvd? Maybe a fifth? HMM?? Who seconds that!!!yes

The Omega
Yes. Special EXTENDED Matrix 1+2+3 WITH special features and red pill included yes

MC Mike
If they gave me a red pill I would wonder whether or not I should take it until I run blindly in circles!!! blink Then I would take it.

The Omega
laughing
And what if it was PURPLE????

JKozzy
Omega(or anyone else)> What do you think the chances of that are? The "extended" editions...
If they shot scenes with Neo and the twins, by golly gimme!
Happy Dance

JKozzy
I'd take it assuming it were Tylenol PM (sp) or something, and then I'd probably wake up in some goo...stick out tonguewink

Then I'd be rescued, and be told by a midget white guy with a high-pitched voice and a fro "Welcome.... to the fake world"

Then I'd screamstick out tongue

The Omega
Jkozzy> GOOD to know... I think.

We've NEVER heard just a squeak about cut scenes (A blooper or two wouldn't hurt anyone I think smile), or special stuff. Maybe they're saving it for a Special Box-set?

JKozzy
I remember Joel Silver saying "We didn't cut any scenes, because we used all of the ones that were filmed." BOO! That's not fair! Go back like LOTR and shoot some more dammit. I WANT MORE MATRIX! And if there were a box-set, I'm buying that the day it's out, and watching it non-stop for however many hours there are of it, which SHOULD BE more than 24.... I mean, cmon it's THREE movies. I think we deserve uncut versions of the movies, like, multiple film shoots. How about those ninety-someod takes that they did of the Superbrawl? That actually could be interesting. As in some of the trailers, I noticed the "Mr Anderson, welcome back. We missed you" was different shots, since Hugo's tone was MUCH different in the international, ETM, and final trailers... so there should be, if not deleted, then alternate scenes. OR why not take advantage of the multiple angle feature of the DVD and actually use that?! The only movie that did that was Daredevil and that movie isn't as good by far as the Matrix trilogy...who's with me??

JKozzy
But, anyone agree with my other post *looks up* about the box-set? It seems logical enough... I bet Omega'll comment on itwink
