well normally it is about 500 kb/s but when I have a bit of luck it can get up to 800 kb/s

I only got a 56k. Here the maximum you can get in the UK is 1mb and its new. I cant believe you guys can get 3 mb. Damn! That has to be fast! Download things 50 times faster than a normal dial up connection.

dave, the fastest connection availabe in this country is actually 100MBPS, saw it advertising in a magazine...

yeh they are usually confined to an intranet but u can hook it up to the net....and its the fastest u can have...unless u count government lines...

I would LOVE to have a 100MB connection.
BTW your bandwidth isn't the actual speed at which you download files, it's just a general communications bandwidth. Some speed test web sits will tell you your actual speed for downloading such as www.bandwidthplace.com/speedtest. This a good place to test, you can choose where you live and the type of connection you have. It'll tell you you speed and the average in your area, my speed for downloading files off the net is about 400KB as opposed to 4-7KB on my old dial-up connection.

BTW you can only use that site 3 times a month for free. Used to be free unlimited, then it was 3 times a day, now it's only 3 times a month.
