...I introduce the EXTERNAL image cache/resizer.

Now whenever someone posts an image outside of these forums, the new cacher will keep a thumbnail copy on these servers. So page loading for you 56k'ers will be much faster.

As always if you notice any problems, please post them here.

In sigs only I would hope.

I don't mind the cached images from just regular images in posts, but I suggest removing external sigs.

Even though my computer connects at 280k on these forums and other sites my computer goes slow.

And just from you having the images resized my browsing on the forums speeds up dramatically.

My DSL slower than 56k, thsi should help with loading.

Yes...for those people who still have cached signatures...now they are no longer thumbs.

Yeah, I've had to disable it for a while as I think it's interfering with the server operating.

Not sure why, but I thought I'd disable it and see if the problem goes away.

raz: for the image shrinking, what happened to it? it seems like it only works for certain threads/forums. or did it get erased or something by mistake? i'm just worrying because i've been posting large images.

you have external and internal shrinkings, the external is switched off

It doesn't matter to me I have a 4Meg connection I don't have a problem with uploading or downloading at all.

Thats very nice to know Godshinto, but the majority are on a crappy 56k...

how do you work the internal shrinking?

It's currently switched off for the time being.

It should hopefully back in the next week or so. We may be getting another server to help out.
