I watched deep rising the other night. WHAT A CRAP FILM IS THAT!!!!

but famke is gorgous in it, and wears a nice red dress at the start, and while i was watching i noticed how great her eyebrows are! i know its not normal to focus on her eyebrows, but they are perfect!




if you watch one of the extra bits on the dvd for i spy, they say her name on that, and its pronounced (roughly) Fam-kA.

Fanke Janssen is one of my favourite actors. I think she's been great in every role she's played.

I know, she was the on ly thing that was any good about it. Apart from the soundtrack. THAT was pretty cool.

The roller coaster ride in the beginning was pretty cool, too. She was also in Deep Rising.

Yes, wearing a lovely dress. I remember that was the thing I liked most. I'm a sucker for red dresses. I have loads of them at home.

I don't personally think she's that pretty. She kind of reminds me of Julia Roberts in the looks department. They could have picked someone prettier for Jean in my opinion.

Yeah I'm aware of that. But they say about a million times in the comics what a hot babe she is. I just thought that when the movies came out they would naturally pick a hot babe to play her, thats all.

You could say the same about Rogue. She's supposed to be one of the sexiest female characters along with Psylocke.
Anyway, I think Famke does a great job and she looks good too. I can't think of anyone better to pull of Phoenix.

I don't think they should base who plays a role on how "pretty" they look.

I can see you wanting them to have picked someone else for the role, but I just disagree with your reason. I'm not saying she is pretty or ugly, well actually I am, but that's not the point i'm trying to make. I never said they should choose based on looks alone. I'm just saying one of the reasons why she shouldn't have been Jean. She just doesn't fit in my opnion. Period.

I think the most important thing here is character and IMO she nailed Jean's character. And knowing Fanke and her past performances as an evil character, she is going to ROCK as Phoenix.
That's why I think she was a good cast choice. They needed someone who could pull off a sweet and good character but at the same time someone that they knew could play Phoenix. Because lets face oit, one thing that was always certain about the X-Men film franchise was that Phoenix would show up one day!

I don't even think she did a good job portraying Jean. Sorry. I just did not like her casting.

I don't know, I think its just that she's not that great of an actress (imo). I didn't really believe that she was really smart, or straight-laced or anything like that. She was just kind of there. I guess that's it.

Famke'd be perfect to star as Joanna Dark. If there ever was a Perfect Dark movie.

I must confess, to start with I found it difficult to believe that she was a nice Jean, because I was so used to her playing the bad guy!
