In all honesty, it's the worst film I have ever seen. Truley terrible in every way. I saw it for free in theaters and still felt cheated.

It was basically a big long music video filled with MTV propoghanda aimed soley at the mindless gothic kids of this generation who eat up anything having to do with vampires, no matter how awful, mundane, stupid, or just plain crappy.

For another example of a crappy vampire movie, see Underworld.

I liked Queen of the Damned because I thought that Alayja chick or whatever her name was was so hot! The way she danced, the way she moved. So sexy.

Entertainment isn't a valid argument since what one may find entertaining, another may find to be complete crap, which is the case here. I couldn't find one strong point of the movie, I was offended by how horrible it was in every way.

I think allaya died because god was pissed that she made such a horrid horrid film. He was like "you know what, this girls stupidity knows no bounds and I'm going to put her out of her misery"

I couldnt agree more, i saw it for free cos i was working as an usher in a cinema at the time of its release. I was slacking off watching the film but it was so bad that i went back to work, i think that sez it all. If you want a decent vampire movie watch Near Dark, genius!

the movie was awful and the book was awful.

the book is beautiful... i really like rice's books cuz, as i said before, they are psychological books, and you can't look at them seeing only fangs and blood, it's sth deeper than that...

The books was a masterpiece, as was The Vampire Lestat, The Tale of the Body Thief, Memnok the Devil and the original Interview with the Vampire. The film of Queen of the Damned would never have even made it to the big screen had it not been to comemorate Alliyah.

Wow, calm down o' great vampire-lover, you.
Even if I'm an Aaliyah fan, I still disliked Queen of the Damned. Not good, nor great.
She isn't a bad actor; she gave her best with the Akasha character. Added life to the part with her movements and voice. The film overall was just pointless and seemed to drag on and on.
Her other film, Romeo Must Die, was much better- so was her character.

She loved the horror genre though, so that's why she was excited about Queen of the Damned.

Too bad she had to have such a lousy film project as her last.

she had no control over the screen play, but she didn't have to be in such an awful awful movie, that was her decision, and she's dead because of it.

aaliyah died because the plane crashed. She played bad because she's a bad actress. End of story. No siren, even if she was beautiful and had a lovely voice, she completely misunderstood akasha's character. Akasha was intelligent and gentle, even if blinded by her own desires. Movie akasha was a monster. Movie akasha was not a vampire, but just undead. There was NOTHING as subtle as anne rice's vampires in movie-akasha or any movie vampire. Maybe only movie marius behaved like a person, not a creature. I know that how anne rice pictured the vampires may me hard to play, but then they shouldn't make the movie. that's all.
