It wasn't 2001 but yeah it was freddies mum who was raped by 1000 maniacs i think, not sure how many, it doesn't really matter anyway.

The movie is actually a sequel to a movie called 2000 maniacs, that i haven't seen, which is unfortunate, thats all i know.

Robert Englund is in it so it could be some kind of prequel

it looks to me like some sort of civil war zombie movie. I hope it is because that sounds like a cool idea.

I think it's about teens that stumble upon a family of psychos. Robert Englund is in it, but not as Freddy.

I didn't think that he would be playing Freddy in the film. It sounds to me like he's looking for some varied roles to play since the success of FvJ. Good luck to him.

Hey! I was an extra in "2001 Maniacs" which was filmed in Lumpkin, Ga. in November. It's directed by Tim Sullivan(Detroit Rock City) and stars Robert Englund. It's a remake of a 60's film called "2000 Maniacs" and it revolves around a town of Southerners who were slaughtered during the Civil War. The town is awakened when some college kids show up in town. The town's mayor(Englund) leads them for revenge upon the "yankees." It's going to be a very gory, over the top horror/comedy. I can't wait to see the finished product. I was thinking maybe it was like a neo nazi skinhead type movie with the reble flag and all.

They are remaking the HG Lewis', 2000 maniacs with robert englund. Nice!
