I think that all of you that say you hate John Mayer are morons. Obviously you don't have an ear for good music and you would rather listen to music that is computer generated with lyrics that repeat themselves a thousand times. John Mayer is truly original in that he can write AND sing his own songs. He doesn't care only about his self-image, he cares about making music that people enjoy and can relate to. You can't say that about many people. His lyrics have true meaning and are significant to what kind of a person he is and what he stands for. That's just my opinion so all of you Britney fans can go back to listening to songs that have no meaning. Period.

None of the people who posted in this thread are Britney fans, as far as I know. If there is one genre I absolutely can't stand, it's pop. Most people who post in the music forum are the same way. I listen to bands like Incubus, Nirvana, Metallica, Green Day, blink-182, Pearljam, SOAD, in short anything BUT what you described. Incubus lyrics have just as much meaning as John Mayer's, and Brandon Boyd has a fantastic voice.

First of all, don't criticize him because his music is sometimes considered to be pop. I believe that his music can be considered pop because the majority of his audience are girls. Many of them merely listen to his music because they think he's hot. I listen to him because I understand his music and can relate to his lyrics (being hot is just a bonus). I think the only reason why you "hate" him is because his music can be considered pop. Do me a favor, look out the window and tell me if you can see flying pigs. If you do, then John's voice is weird. And if you think that Brandon Boyd's voice is better...you need your hearing checked.

You're missing my point. I'm not saying people shouldn't write songs about relationships with women, I'm saying that they shouldn't have most of their songs be about that. On top of which, "Your Body is a Wonderland" really isn't about a relationship--it's just about some guy who met a really hot girl and wants to sleep with her. I know I'm being blunt, but if you read the lyrics, that really does sound like what he's trying to say.

The John Mayer album, "Room For Squares" has thirteen songs on it. Out of those thirteen, four are about relationships/women. The Incubus album, "A Crow Left of the Murder", has fourteen songs on it. ONE of those is about a girl, "Southern Girl". At least it has a good sound. I'm not saying love songs are bad, just that people start to get numb to them if you have too many on the same damn album.
