well peeps, if any1 has gone to actually read some slash HP, then u'll c that pretty much all of it is set in their 5th, 6th or 7th year, AND Fred and George etc are older than harry+draco anyway (linkin back 2 what was first stated). Not many writers do write about the 'underage' children, 1st to 4th year for example. So really there shouldnt be much proplem with it see?

You know, Candy has made it clear that she isn't looking at porn. She's just reading fanfiction; she even said it's something like a fanfic thats a sequel to OotP. Maybe there just so happens to be a situation where there is some slash, but she told us thats it's not anything like that. I totally agree with Trickster. Most characters are 15+, and the authors usually do not put in sexual situations if they are under 18.
And Candy's not looking at porn, so it doesn't matter. And, as wrong as Squeaky thinks it might be, people are still going to do it. So until she trys to hunt everyone down and chain them up for writing slash, it doesn't look like there is going to be anything stopping people from reading slash. And just because anyone under 17 is a child in her opinion, it's not like they are going to say "Oh no. Squeaky said I'm a child. I guess I can't read the fanfic." What I don't understand is why Squeaky is trying to make what Candy says a big deal, when it's not. Just let the girl read her fanfiction.

First off, the 'I Don't Like Harry Poter' thread has no longer anythig to do with harry potter. It is more of a chat thread now.

Second, Fred and George are FICTIONAL. They were characters invented from someone's mind. Therefore, characters having incestual relationships does not the pollute the human gene pool. Maybe you have not realised yet that fiction means not real?

Slash is a way of expressing love for the characters from harry potter and showing the relationships the writer would love to happen.

And to stand up for slash, it is often set in the future, when the characters are older. There is little 12/13 year old sex fictions... maybe boyfriends, but not graphic sex.

Also, graphic/explicit MUST be labelled R or 18 or 'contains graphic sex scenes'. Poeple do not leave these things around for children to find.

The slash fic where theyre only about 12 or 13 is just very very wrong

I think depicting pedophilia or incest in a way that makes it "okay" is horribly wrong. That kind of behavior should not be encouraged in anyway: fictional or not.

I think that if you look at pictures of brothers (if they're fictional or not) doing something sexual then thats sick. I am a member of this forum too, I should have the same rights and respect as everyone else. Just because people get mad at me and peoeple don't like me doesn't mean anything.

No crap I'm young! DUH! 21 isn't that old. But legally in all parts of the world, I am considered an adult regardless of your opinion. FYI. I am a student, but that doesn't change my status as an adult.

I didn't mean that young people don't care about facts, I just meant that if they made a list of their values, opinions would most likey be higher on the list than facts. Since I was being ridiculed for researching things,, I thought that that's how you guys felt about facts and evidence.

Also I NEVER referred to anyone as a pedophile.

Any comments about those type of people was a general comment not directed at any one person, and mostly rerferring to writers of slash with children having sex.

THE FAN FICTION where they are dating and being all cute with eachother is fan fiction. SLASH is when they have sex and that is what I am against.

I apologize to Trickster for pointing out that he had attitude spelled incorrectly.

But he was using in reference to me having an attitude problem, so according to his statement that I deserve to be insulted because I was being an antagonist, then I am in the clear, because clearly that statement was meant to make me upset and insult me.

But my apology still stands as I don't abide by that rule.

I truly am sorry if I personally hurt anyone's feelings during the course of any of my forum posting.

Squeaky, your opinions matter as much as everyone else's even if the majority of people here don't agree. But I think it's the way you write things that make people think you're being offensive even if your not.

Well, I'm 21. (as we all know by now LOL)
I go the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where I major in Theatre with an emphasis in performance. I will graduate in May 2005.

I am the President of the theatre organization on campus and am a member of ASIA (asian students in action) and SPAMM (society of Platteville's anime and manga maniacs.

In my spare time I enjoy acting and working backstage (Last summer I stagemanaged a professional show for the first time It was really stressful and scary.). I LOVE film, I've stared in a student film on campus and took some classes that were really fun on the subject. I also like reading (fiction and manga *japanese graphic novels, by graphic I mean comic style...not perverted..LOL). I also am a Japanese language student and I love the language and culture..it's my favorite class.

I was born Dec 12, 1982 in the Philippines. (Archipelago of 7,107 island off the coast of Southern Asia). I Moved to the US (California) when I was in 2nd grade. Then I moved to Wisconsin when I was in 6th grade.

I have a boyfriend Matt who is 25, whom I love very much. He graduated last year with degrees in International Studies and Business. We live together with our chinchilla, Ivy (who is the cutest and best chinchilla is the world!).

We live in town, right by the school, and our friends come over to watch movies and play videogames everynight! It's alot of fun.

I am currently addicted to Final Fantasy 11, which I try to play when I get the chance. I work on campus as an assitant for the Learning Technology program. I teach other students to make webpages and stuff.

I'm a Saggitarius and my chinese sign is the Water Dog. My favorite color is pink and I love Hello Kitty stuff!
