I live in Tennessee and yesterday we got a state lottery! Now I have lived in other states that have had it but here it seems to be a huge deal. There have been protests and alot of ppl aren't happy......... The way I see it there are advantages and dissadvantages to everything inclulding this, the question is which one weighs out?!?
I can't make up my mind. I love that more scholarships are going to be avaible, but last night as I stood in a line (to get milk) of more than 20 ppl waiting to buy tickets i was torn. Most of the ppl who were spending $50-$100 worth of tickets, were the some of the same ppl who I cash unemployment checks for, and who..... well it is hard to say it w/o sounding bitchy but ppl who really can't aford it.

So my question is........ Is it worth it?

I dunno I occassionaly play the UK lotto but I've never won anything!

the lottery is one of those wierd things...id say its pretty good cuz it helps out the economy and gets interest back in business.

well, i live in NY, it isn't that bad out here. the occassional few people are waiting to buy a ticket in front of me, but i guess i have gotten used to it... Give it time, when people keep playin and losing, it wun be as bad as it is now

When I lived in Tennessee a few months back, we got the Lottery...they just need to set it all up...so this is old news.

umm yes but it started yesterday....... they tickets went on sale.

Obsure Fact: Where I live (Massachusetts) there are nearly 10 different lotteries.

I see any type of State Lottery as gambling but I do gamble. So for me is neither bad or good.

Usually they would have to drive to Kentucky to get their tickets.

Wasting gas money to go waste money on the Lotto.

hey...i live in Tennessee also. and i think the lottery is a GREAT thing cuz now i can go to college and have a good future. i definitely think it is worth it for all the other ppl in my position.
