Pirate_Girly
Has anyone heard of the new Rated R Card, that they are coming out with, i dont know if its just for specific places or everywhere but they are coming out with new rated r cards for people age 17 or under to see Rated R movies, I dont know but i dont think its a good idea, i think that if your parents allow you to see that stuff, they can check you in, but however on the good side, you wouldnt have to bring them in you'd just have to show your card.

xeous
Dudette, if your 17, you can go to R rated movies.

Trinity_Matrix
...and most theaters don't even really care, like when my friends and I went to go see Hannibal for my 15th birthday...heh...

xeous
Yeah, it's when you're buying them that they care. When I bought the Matrix: Reloaded they carded me. I was clean shaven wink When I bought 25th anniversary of Psycho, no card. I was scruffley. When I bought Underworld, they carded me and I was scruffley! I think it was a new girl just doing procedure. Most people say I look like at least a freshman in college.

Pirate_Girly
ok

rusky
hehe....in romania no one gives a damn...big grin

LanceWindu
Doesn't make any difference to me.

I've been able to see Rated R for 3 years now.

Trinity_Matrix
What I think is the stupidest thing is to buy 1 R-rated ticket, you have to be 17, but to buy more than one, you have to be 21...WTF is the deal with that? My brother and I went to see Matrix Revolutions and they wouldn't let me buy tickets for both of us (I'm 17 and he's 15), so I had to have my mom come and buy my brother's ticket. But the most amusing part of it was the fact that that's the only time I've ever had trouble getting into an R-rated movie...and it was after I'd been 17 for 9 months blink

Pirate_Girly
Well i created this thread to see what you thought about it, maybe if you were like a parent or something, nothing else. And over here its quite frank that they dont care either, and in most places probably dont/ and wont.

Pirate_Girly
Thats quite odd Trinity, but i guess its different all over the world

lil bitchiness
What exactly does 'R rated' mean? Whats it equivelent to...age wise?

Raz
It's like the 18 rating here in the UK. But in the US a child can watch an R-rated movie if accompanied with an adult IIRC.

Trinity_Matrix
I live in the US, actually...

Lil -- To get into R-rated films you have to be 17.

Pirate_Girly
Same here trinity

lil bitchiness
Oh, ok i understand! thumb up

Wait, Matrix Revolutions was R rated on US? confused

Trinity_Matrix
Yep, it was.

Pirate_Girly
it was rated r? hm could have fooled me..i didnt look at the rating lol

Shoukan
That is the same way here in the United States...A person under 17 has to have an adult with them.

Shoukan
There are a lot of movies that have rated R ratings that should have been rated PG-13...oh well roll eyes (sarcastic)

wicker_man
Here in Britain the R-17 rule does not exist, however under 12's can see 12 classified films as long as they are accompanied by an adult (i.e. a person aged 18 years or over) this classification is known as 12a, recent 12a classifications have included Lord of The Rings : The Two Towers and Return of the King .

Shoukan
What I dont get here is why the have NC-17 and Rated R...I mean they are the same...I guess NC-17 isn't for children period even if an adult tries to take one in...
-----------------------
Here is our ratings...
Rated G
Rated PG
Rated PG-13
Rated R
Rated NC-17---No Children under 17
------------------------

steptreks
we have...

U
pg
12a
15
18

Trinity_Matrix
Kids under 17 can get into R-rated films with an adult. NO one under 17 can get into NC-17 films, period.

Raz
Here, for 15 and 18 ratings no one under the age can view them, no matter if they are with an adult or not.

Shoukan
yeah i kinda figured that outlaughing out loud

Trinity_Matrix
Ahh okay smile

Pirate_Girly
Do you mean an adult has to buy a ticket with the person under 17 and go see it w/ them? or an adult has to buy a ticket for hem

Fire
In belgium we have +15 and +18 that's everything
+15 isn't given often only if the movie contains a lot of violence (last one I saw was TCM (WHICH SUCKS the original is far better)) or some small amount of nudity
+18 is only given to XXX movies which arent shown at normal theatres

realworlddreams
damn that sux
i have a college I.D. from the community college, R rated movies are no prob..
(im a junior in high school)

BackFire
The ratings system is pretty useless anyways. I never had to deal with them really, my parents had enough common sense to trust that I was intelegent enough to know that no matter what I see in a movie, it's fake, and they always allowed me to see R rated movies, even when I was like 9 years old.

silver_tears
We don't have cards blink
And no one checks age anyways, plus you can buy your tickets online and from machines outside the teater so it doesnt really matter if your of age or not since the machines can't tell and the people taking tix don't care stick out tongue

Pirate_Girly
We dont have cards, and i hope we dont..but it was a thought on our local news channel..
Ratings at my theater it goes g,pg, pg-13,r,nc-17
and in other theaters around here they go up to rated X

Fire
same here BF

BakaXero
wierd...........
in australia we have
PG no real age restriction
M 15+ recommended
MA restricted to 15+
R Restricted to 18+
matrix is either M or MA
only the really violent movies are R rated

silver_tears
Matrix was rated 14A here big grin or something similar.
Nowhere near R Rated no
