just got done playing this game, and i'm pretty decent at it.
it looks like psylocke and dark phoenix are the two most powerful
chars in the game. I think dez will like to know that nightcrawler tears
up if you can play him right

anyone else have this game to play?

I have the ps2 version and apparently the X-box and friggin gamecube
have different char's and things you can play...

like friggin X-box has a Pyro char thats unlockable... and gamecube
has like 2 or 3 different play modes you can do... gah.. just my luck.

i'm having a blast playing it.

was just wondering if anyone could fill me in on what its like to play
pyro or the other modes. seems pretty cool just sucks i cant play em.

I have the game for PS2. It has some cool stuff in it, but there are some big flaws. Many of the voices are horrible, most of the opening and victory lines are ridiculous, and the limited character selection pisses me off. They should have put in everyone from X-Men who was in those other arcade games. They put in Havok, but they left out Iceman? Ugh. And the way Blob and Sabretooth are portrayed, it's a cheat. Feh.

I have the game!! I used the cheat though to unlock everything It doesn't unlock Pyro though. MAN would i love to play as Pyro

yeah apparently pyro is only for x-box and you have to beat the game
with dark phoenix arcade mode, on easy, hard and expert to get pyro
unlocked.

No, you can unlock pyro that way on the PS2 aswell its just that i can't win with dark phoenix even on easy cus it's soooo bloody hard

Yeah, its definately on there, i read it on a PS2 cheat site before but when i found out what ye have to do to get him i knew i would never be able to unlock pyro cus its TOO DAMN HARD!!!!! whay couldn't it have been with psylocke?? I always win with her, ALWAYS!!

no, you just have to beat arcade mode with dark phoenix on easy, medium and hard, you can lose a fight but if you replay it and win and then carry on then it should still unlock

yeah, each of my friends and i started playing a char when it came out.
and we got REALLY good at it. my friend jeff can literally destroy anyone
with beast, its friggin insane. i chose psylocke and also got really good
with gambit.. but my friend q he played dark phoenix. so i guess its good
because if we ever had problems with a fight we just made Q beat it for
us hehe.. but yeah like i said.. pyro aint on the ps2.

Ihave the game for GameCube and i have evry character unlocked but i use mostly Psylocke which has kick ass costumes and Wolverine since its pretty easy to use!

betsy was a pre-siege perilous character. and psylocke was a post
siege p. character. even though pre-siege was an english girl and post
was asian. there are alot of contradicting things in the game. but i blame
the guy who did all the info on the chars instead of the programmers.

Pyro is only in the XBox version, along with the exclusive "City Bar" arena. I unlocked Pyro by finishing Arcade mode with Dark Phoenix on Expert difficulty. I don't know why as the Assets menu says that he is unlocked after completing Easy, Normal, and Expert difficulties. I also got Dark Phoenix's 3rd costume too. Pyro is fun to play as, I've only played as him a couple of times though. The "City Bar" arena is my favorite arena in the WHOLE game!

If you are having trouble with the Expert difficulty, use high-damaging combos a lot. They can be found at GameFAQS.

Phoenix is the character I'm best with, her 3rd costume is my favorite! I'm very good with Storm too.

I've only played it on Game Cube and I liked it, I'm the best with Gambit and Betsy *not Psylocke* However I found the game easy...

Betsy is the best character in Gamecube. So is Nightcrawer, Phoenix, Cyclops, and Juggernaut.

Oh, my gosh! I want that game so bad, but I've never been able to find it!

I have the PS2 version and I'm the best with Nightcrawler..undefeated ..for now..

nightcrawler is good but i have gone so far in survival i shut the game off from boredom using wolverine and juggernaut is an easy begginer character but betsy takes some practice it took me awhile to get her combos down but i got em pretty good now

I like the game for the X-men but the gameplay sucks hard
VERY hard.
Everything moves 2 slow, the special moves are cool
but a normal punch or kick is way to slow.

Its like watching a slowmow movie

Put in some more chars (yes, MORE )
and pull up the speed
and this game roxxors

You should get it on XBox or GC, as the PS2 has the longest load times and it didn't have any extras.

GC has 2 exclusive modes.

XBox has Pyro, realistic fire effects, and the City Bar arena.

I think I'll stay with my PC and my Tomb Raider Games ..... but thanks .... and I love your av FieryPhoenix thumbsup

I have it for PS2 and I love it, but theres one thing that pisses me off: why did they put psylocke and betsy? one would be enough, instead they could put iceman, angel or colossus. And i dont like te female sentinel, I would prefer avalanche or pyro.

I also have wolverines revenge, it rocks big time

Does anyone else think that Betsy and Psylocke's names should be switched? Either that or their costumes should be switched. Betsy's costume looks like Psylocke's costume from the comics and the animated series.

I have the Gamecube version. I pretty much play Gambit or Rogue in the games, and I can pretty much kick arse. But I decided to try out the story mode. I've got the point where Forge is up against the Sentinal. Now, no matter how hard I try, I just cannot defeat this thing!

I get a few good kicks in, and in the health bars, I'm winning, before I suddenly collapse on the floor and die. (Patiently refraining from smashing my controller through my telly. ) Why does this happen?

Do I have to completely KO this Sentinal before the timer runs out?!

If that is so, it's gonna be a toughie.

the forge vs sentinel match is pretty tough, nowadays I can win it easily, but the first battles were like impossible, just jump around and kick him in the head, and wait for the super lvl 4, then unleash it

Those 2 sentinel battles are very annoying. Just make sure when you get to the match that is Magneto VS Bastion that you LOSE. You will see a cinema and now the next match will be Phoenix VS Bastion. Defeat him to get the "Good" ending. Winning with Magneto will get you the crappy ending and a 2nd set of costumes.

If you want the Secret(Best) ending, defeat Bastion with a "PERFECT" during the Phoenix VS Bastion match. It's not that hard. I'll post some good combos if you don't know of any, because you'll need them to get the Secret ending.

Getting the Secret ending will also unlock another character and the 2nd set of costumes if you didn't already get them.

forge has a combo. where you knock them back a little . do that,(its really easy) and then hit your throw button and then hit him again 2 times on the ground and jump back. it's the easiest and fastest way to win that fight. just keep doing that over and over.

Rogue rules the court. She takes little damage, heals through her absorbtion, has decent Level 2 supers...the only drawback is her LOUSY accent. It makes me wince. Thank God for Mute.

Gambit fairly good too, but Gamecube doesn't let you use his aerial throws if he's already attacked in midair. Which blows like kitties on Alka-Seltzer.

Nightcrawler would be better if he didn't take so much damage, because he's fast but Storm takes just as much as him.

They all have loads more, you press triangle cross together during a fight and they say a phrase AND it charges up the supers bar

Rogue's accent is way screwed up.

when playing story mode also, in forges fight with the sentinal, the easiest way to win that i found is to step back immediately when the fight starts so it deosn't hit you then throw a bomb, when the sentinal tries to get back up, throw another. Just keep throwing the bombs and ye will win in no time

Yeah, but Forge irritates me. So I let my brother eat the Sentinel.

X:ND was the way I got into X-Men originally, so I hadn't a clue what Remy was saying half the time. I didn't know he was supposed to have an acent until I looked it up. But now I know.

i had mutant academy 2 free with my ps1, thats partly how i got into this shit

I have Mutant Academy 1 & 2. They were fun until Next Dimension was released.

Next dimension is good, but if you combine the 4 way movements and better graphics with the mutant academy 2 then that would be a game definatley worth playing and would be a lot better than next dimension. ND needs a lot of improvements and the game play is set and made too hard, its practically impossible to do anything above easy mode

nah, i can own anything in the game on expert its easy just learn combos. i liked everymode except the story mode. i really think the story in this game sucked./

It does get annoying when you are not aligned with an opponent when doing as super or aerial combo. I always play on Expert, it isn't hard to beat the crap out of the AI, they just block A LOT. Use counters and 15-hit custom combos and you'll win 90% of the time...even on Expert difficulty. You should just pick one character at a time, find their combo list online, and practice until you are unbeatable.

Mutanta Academy didn't have fully 3D enviornments, so you never had to worry about your attacks missing their target, but that made the game too easy sometimes.

The Mutant Academy FMV's are better than some of the Next Dimension FMV's. Wolverine looks nasty in the ND FMV's.

You can create your own combos too. Rogue, on Gamecube, has a BBAA - jump - AB Hyper Belle Ringer (A+B) combo that's easy and efficient. If you don't like that, her X kick is good for lofting opponents high in the air.

Gambit has some easy combos too, like AXAAB - jump - BBBXX (after this you ccan throw if you're using anything except Gamecube). Jeggernaut has some good combos too, but anyone countering punches will knock his socks off.

In the game, besty is the normal character and then psylocke is classed as the evolved form of besty. If you win arcade mode with besty, you unlock psylocke. When you do that, read their bios, it should give you more insight in to what the smeg is going on with this game

they look the same to mee, they even have the same combos and specials, the only diference is that betsy has two cool uniforms (ninja and xtreme) and a psychic dagger, and psylocke as just one cool uniform (revolution) and a psychic katana...

yes that's betsy...psylocke has different hair

psylockes hair is pinkish purple and is almost the same colour as one of her costumes i think...

Yes, Next Dimension is great.... i unlocked all of the secret stuff....my best character to use is Wolverine and Magneto, but i like Toad and Phoenix very much to.

i can pull off some wicked cool combos with wolverine, if i can get the first strike i can do a combo which knocks out more than half the life of the opponent. By then the supers are charged up and if i can hit with one of them, its a perfect

I just got this game! It's so fun! I've been kicking a$$ with Rogue... Nightcrawler's a fun one too... But ya'll said Pyro wasn't on PS2??? That's so gay... oh well.

Pyro's not to great in the game anyway.

The extra XBox arena is awesome though.

It all depends on your choice of game. I love the fighting games, so this was a natural choice for me. Where as I did not like Wolvie's Revenge. Just not my kind of thing.
