a question

juzz wonderin if anyone would waste their times answering this question...
1 "is east on the left or the right side???" (if yer answer is "east is on the left", ye dun havta answer the next question... if yer answers "east is on the right".... i think ye should consider readin the next one)
2 "if the world spins counter clockwise (to the left) doesnt that make the sun rise from the left side??? therefore, since the sun rises in the east.... the east should be on the left side..."

juzz thought id share this question i made and i really havent figured out the answer yet

i feel brainwashed 😑

lolz.. dun worry vamp... i felt the same when i was still figurin it out... til i got so tired of thinkin bout it.. actually.. i got alotta those kindsa questions... i juz dun think ye guys would be interested

if you're going to be talking about rights and lefts, then you need to define right and left. Are you facing north or south...because that would change which left you are facing.

And duh! east is on the right, that's why the day ends in Japan before it starts in the United States. Right now it's 8:00am in California on Friday. But in Japan its almost Saturday.

So if you go on a boat for a world tour day never ends

but basically.. it doesnt matter which side yer facing since the world spins counter clockwise... plus im talkin bout this thing:
n
w e
s
that thing... i juz think its wrong.. it should be constant that east is on the left side... and well... the thing bout the u.s. and japan.. its actually got sumthin to do with the dateline and not the sun rising and setting

i'm sure it would. Boats aren't fast enough to keep up with the pace of the sun. Jesus, you'd have to be going over 300 miles per hour.

well if you're talking
N
W E
S

Then it does matter because if you're facing north....then west is to your left. But if you're facing south, then East is to your left.

I always consider North is always pointing up.

nawe.. i mean.. uhm... the way they wrote it... it shouldve been
n not n
e w w e
s s
cuz of the direction of the rotation of the world

oh and i forgot.... why would you consider that east is on the right side since ye wont be facin north all the time???

when i think of the world...i don't think in lefts and rights. I think like that when it comes to driving directions. This thread has 10 posts on it and i still can't seem to understand ur logic for thinking that the direction the world rotates has anything to do with what's east and what's west.

wut i mean is that well.. if the world spins counter clockwise (to the left) and the sun rises in the east..... then east should be on the left side and not the right side

I consider East on the right because you calibrate from North, and East is to the right of North, that is how it works.

Only a complete failure of logic would make you possibly think that a sun that rises in the east comes from the left due to anti-clockwise rotation.

Let us say the Sun is to the 'left' of the Earth. Therefore the right hand side of the Earth is in darkness. People on that righthand side of the Earth would therefore be spinning towards that Sun on their RIGHT, due to anti-clockwise roation.

It comes from the right if calibrating from North! So stop linking left and right with East and West where no such link exists.

i still don't follow. what does the fact that the world spins counter clockwise have to do with what's east and west? Your argument is too ambiguous

PEANUT BUTTERED FARTS

Absolutely. He is making a link between left/right and East/West that does not exist.

Like I say, the only reason we normally consider East to be on the 'right' is because we calibrate from North, and no other reason.

Incidentally, why do you assume anti-clockwise movement is 'leftwards'? It can be rightwards.

The logic here is totally false. Left and Right depend entirely on what you are calibrating from.

yup i totally agree

There's a new direction...

"Sotuh"

its not an argument... its juz a question.... ok.. lets put it this way... world spins to the left... therefore... the sun cums from the left side not the right... which makes east on the left side;;;
