I never cared for the ring.

Coming from someone who owns both "I Know What You Did Last Summer" movies, and considers them horror, I can't put a lot of stock into any of your claims, chief.

it was a great movie i probably dont like it as much as backfire loves TCM but i found it quite enjoyable....no need for gore in it either..feardotcom on the other hand.....BLECH imitation of the ring

The story behind feardotcom was that Columbia lost out on the rights to "The Ring" adaptation, so, they yoinked what they knew of the storyline, meshed it with their "Strangeland" ripoff, and the rest is history.
