Each is the best in their own way.
FotR is a great adventure story
TTT shows the power of the enemy and the many paths of the heroes
RotK has the epic battle of Minas Tirith and concludes the main story

It hard to say what's best, but my fav is RotK for the battle and the emotional ending(s)
