Well, I saw the movie last night, And I gotta tell ya... it was... Brutal... Complete with murderous torture, Death games, And Piercings being ripped out of peoples skin, The movie had everything the punisher is... And more... The punisher is a guy who is suffering from the loss of his whole bloodline, cousins, aunts, uncles, mom, dad, the works. As we all should know, Frank Castle worked for the N.Y.P.D.
The comic book, The first issue, wasnt nearly as bad as the movie made it to be... He killed some people, and was cruel to some people, but not like in the movie... In the movie...
Ok, so im not gonna ruin it for anyone, so I wont say any names.
In the movie a guy is half trapped under the ceiling, And The punisher walks in, This guy happens to be someone who helped kill his family, So he walks in, holding a 8 pound bomb.
The guy is trying to reach his gun, but his legs and left arm are pinned, and he cant reach it, The punisher slides it away from his fingers, and holds up the bomb.
"This is a small, 8 pound, Explosive... Not very heavy, Pretty lightweight..."
And thne he says "Try holding it with an outstretched arm..."
And he pulls out some string, ties his middle finger tightly to a pipe, so his hand is dangling, but he cant move it, and he puts the bomb in his hand, and activates it for like 3 minutes until it explodes.
The guy starts screaming, and he walks out, showing the bomb beeping and blinking, counting down.

Thats just one of the scenes, he also does the old "Tie em up" to a back of a car and he turns it on and puts a brick on the pedal, then quickly sets it on auto pilot, so its going about 8 miles an hour, dragging this guy through a huge parking lot full of cars, and they start exploding around him, then finally, the car hes tied to, explodes, after hes already been burning on fire, alive.

All in all, The movie was well done, a little to gruesome for me, but hey, thats how the punisher is, No boobies or anything like that in the movie, take your kids, if they can handle cusswords and guns being fired... and toruturing... and blood...... and... ok... Dont take your kids...

So... What I wanna know.. is where were all the other super-heroes when all this exploding was happening, I mean, buildings exploded, people were dieing and getting killed all over, huge explosions of cars... Where was spidey? Fighting dock ock? Where was Daredevil... where was the hulk, Where was captain america for crying out loud!
THEY NEED TO PUT CAMEO'S IN THESE MOVIES!

thats what i said they need cameos like in daredevil at the end when hes looking at that guy who was smoking i thiught spidey should be swinging in the background that would be sweet

Hey SuperNova, just to correct you on the 8 lb bomb. It was a anti-personal mine that uses a trip wire. What Punisher did was to put the bomb in the guys hand (making the guy hold the bomb with his out-streched arm) and tie the trip wire which is attached to the mine to something hanging from the ceiling, so whe the bad guy's arm got tired of holding the 8 lb bomb up and dropped the mine would go off.

I gotta say I liked the movie, sure it dosne't follow the comic story line perfectly (but no comic movie really can), but if you've been reading the latest comics coming out on the Punisher you'd see there are bits and parts of many of his comics included in the movie.

My only problem was they spent more time than I'd have liked showing Frank with his family and stuff which could have been time spent showing the Punisher punishing bad guys, but thats just me.

yes there was breif boobs in the movie, and don't bring your kid, if you can't get him to stay f'n put with his mouth shut for 2 hrs.. otherwise, forget it, or your going to piss off a hella a lot of people.

Im going to see it tonight. It looks awesome, has anyone else seen this movie?. I thought the old Punisher movie with Dolph Lundren sucked. But oh well, this might be better.

Cool I wanna see that movie, but it's like an hour and a half drive to a theater. So i'll probably wait for video.

I'm glad that u liked the movie, my mind is at peace now. About the Cameos, we all feel the same way about that, but it all comes down to licences and contracts that r sometimes complicated in the movie industry. Still they could put an easter egg in the movie and make us search for spidey in the background somewhere, even DD.

Oh yea, there was boobs, When those people were walking... I forgot about that... That was an unnesercary part anyways.
Yea, They really do need to make some cameos... Arent all the movies made by marvel? Why would there be copyrights and stuff if its all made by virtually the same people?
Im tellin ya... in the hulk 2, or dare devil 2, or spiderman 3... if they dont make cameos... im gonna freakin scream!

I have to say that the movie was amazing, and in my opinion, the best comic book movie out yet, in this recent burst of comic films. I think the best way he killed someone had to be when a guy came up and shot him with a shotgun, but Frank was wearing a vest, and so he walked up and grabbed the shotgun, twisted it down and made him shoot his own foot. Then he put the guys hand against his thigh, and stabbed him, pinning his hand against his leg. Yet still after this, Frank shoves another knife up through the bottom of his chin and you can see the blade through the guys mouth. That was awesome.

I absolutely loved the first trailer. The newer one, not so much. But from what I've seen and heard, "Bodies" by Drowning Pool is so appropriate for that movie it isn't even funny. It's just amazing they actually made a trailer with it in.

DaD is not my favorite movie, I just liked it a lot, the fact that you may have not liked it is neither relative nor does it prove anything.

That's just what films need to get them established - relying on OTHER, obviously more successful characters such as Spiderman.

I cannot imagine seeing the Punisher, and then Spiderman swinging in the background, how corny would that be? Come on.......

Maybe in the sequels, but not in their opening movie (Dolphs movie never counts) - they need to get the MAIN CHARACTER established first, not take the spotlight away with another character, especially not using Spiderman of all people to do it.

Definatly agree with REd superfly on this one. You can't just have tons of Cameos everywhere. And even if you do, it has to make sense. You can't have Spider-Man, NYC, flying in the background of a Punisher movie, Tampa Bay. It's stupid. Mixing Spider-Man and Daredevil would be cool though, cause that makes sense, and it actually happens in the comics.

first of all, the string was attatched to a detenator, if the kid dropped the mine, it would explode. second, i liked the movie, but i didn't like that fact that castle was portrayed as a hero. he's a nut job. and i agree about the cameos, half the time I expected a leather clad affleck to drop on him him and say "hi, how are you?" i always liked castle best in his role as DD's punching bag. as for the chronology issue, based on the technology and things like bruce banner's age and the graduation date of peter parker, I think this is the order of the films:
1.The Punisher
2.Daredevil
3.Punisher 2
4.The Hulk
5.Spider-Man
6.Spider-Man 2
7.Elektra (The new villian, Typhoid Mary is a mutant)
8.X-Men
9.X2:X-Men United
