I was just wondering, has anyone heard news about Mortal Kombat 3 the movie? if you visit this site http://www.mortalkombat.com/ it clearly shows imformation about MK3. I was just wondering because its been up for a long time now, and im surprised this site hasn't got information about it.

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation was a good movie because people were only watching it for the fight scenes. If you watched a Mortal Kombat movie for a plot then you must be some dope, because a MK movie is all about half-naked women, spectacular fight scenes and over-the-top characters.
As for Mortal Kombat: Domination, yes I have heard news. I have heard the fights are going to be similar to the ones in Charlie's Angels, Romeo Must Die, The matrix etc., if you know what I mean.
Oh, yeah, and Liu Kang's going to die at the start.

Yes, but MKA was still shite compared to the original because it took itself seriously whilst the original was totally taking the piss, from Christopher Lambert downwards.

Highlander was pain...I seriously had to trun of the movie several times...to take five..that I managed to see through this movie, is still a question only a exsra terrestrilal can answer!

I have to disagree, the first one could be classed as awesome but the second one (annhialation i think) was so low class - I thought it was one of those rip off pornos to begin with!

I doubt they will be releasing anymore, tis been a while since I last seen a Mortal Kombat movie released.

I love mortal kombat, but I wouldnt want to see another movie of it because they dont know how to do it right. Yes the first one was incredible, but argh... the fight scenes? they were so un-tournament like. The 'finishers' were lame. If they do make a new mortal kombat movies, get a director who is a huge fan of the series. Until then I'd rather not see another nonsensical botch of a great video game. Mind you I'm referring to mortal kombat 1 , 2 and deadly alliance, not 3 (all the inbetweens like the platform games, 4, etc) cuz those were horrific. hehe

Well with all the games turned movies that are poping up it wouldnt surprise me.

To let you all know the new movie has all the old characters returning and the actors, Even the orginal Johnny Cage. The story is all about a loop hole that the "bad guys" found and Raydon gets everyone back together (and brings johnny back to life) to end it once and for all.

They had better stick real close to the games. I mean even if they gotta put energy bars to help them realize it gotta stick with the game then so be it. I couldnt bare to see another MK:Annihilation movie..... *shudder*

oh, and Yuen Wo Ping better do the choreography lol... I hate badly acted fight scenes

Well, it's out in 2005 and will be the worse one ever. Maybe they'll realize that nobody cares, and they will stop production.

I agree too, the first movie is one of my fave films but the second was so unbelievably horrible that I can only hope the third one will at least have a good trailer if nothing else!

The first movie, had great sets, music, fighting and cool characters (even though Sonia didn't look like the video game or have the Kiss of Death) but the second one was just ugh and I still can't believe they killed of Johnny in like the first 5 minutes! (maybe she did have the kiss of death afterall j/k) but seriously the second one was just beyond tacky.

I have no idea how they can redeem themselves in the third movie without having to start all over again with a different plot, some charcter changes and a different production cast but you never know, we may be pleasently surprised. I hope!

You're right RebelPhoenix...the second movie was HORRIBLE!!!! And the first movie was a great one, but I hope that the third movie is going to be the best out of the bunch(maybe even batter than the first). They better follow the same way they made the first movie, or else if they dont, it's gonna be BAD!!!!

well Jurassic Park was pretty much horrible, and they made a 3rd one which while better then the 2nd still wasnt very good, and they are still making a 4th. So you never know what people are thinking.

New Line has showed disinterest in a possible Mortal Kombat 3 although Threshold Entertainment is firm in their belief that another film will be made. What we can expect is for a hiatus of possibly five years on this production and then perhaps and new collaboration between Threshold and another company that is not New Line. My only hope is that this future company can properly fund the project since we know New Line isn't known for their amazingly high production budgets. The last thing this franchise needs is a straight to video cut when there is opportunity for a potentially profitabe line of films if they are executed well enough.

The second one just plain out sucked.The guy who played Raiden was a major downgrade.

WHy in gods name would they wanna do a triquel to mortal kombat.. most likely it is gonna be horrible just like the second one.

The third film is supposed to take off where the first one ended - completely ignoring the second film. The creators of "Mortal Kombat" would be behind it so I think there's lots of potential.

But once again - this film's never gonna get made at this rate.

Those are the same rumors that floated around close to a year back, but since this film is clearly not headed into production in the near future then the stories, plots, scripts, etc. will be different. With each game that is released under Midway there breathes new ground in which to base a third film. A revamp is also possible since it has been 8 years since Annihilation and 10 years since the first film. The possibilities are endless with the next film along with its potential so claiming the third will "suck" or be "horrible" is a bit unfair in my opinion.

I hope it's better than MK: Annihilation. That movie was an embarrassment to the series. Plus only Christopher Lambert can play Raiden or I won't even watch the next movie. I heard a rumour way back that Lambert was going to play Raiden and the other guy was going to play Fujin, but that would be stupid.

Lord , please tell me they didn't cast James Remar again for the role of Raiden. While the first one was campy enough to be mildly entertaining, having the likes of Remar and Brian Thompson just killed the casting credibility of the sequel completely. There's a reason why Thompson's alien bounty hunter on the X-Files was an appropriate role for him... kept his horrible voice acting ability to a minimum.

I don't think anyone realy even cares to see a new MK movie.The are great,the first movie is great.

Maybe you don't, but I among many others do care to see another film.

I would like another MK movie, it is a strong enough source that can create a good movie, which it already has. If put in the right hands they could make another good MK movie, but they cant settle for a money grubbing slap together like last time.

If they do as mentioned earlier, and pick up exactly where the first movie left off, forgetting the second completely, then im there !

And lets have a plot this time, not senseless mush.

In my opinion/view, I believe that a future Mortal Kombat film would be best suited and successful if it were perhaps a remake of the first or an alternate telling of the characters and story that began the MK games. Besides the fact that it would far more entertaining, people who have ever been fans or interested in the MK universe would likely be attracted to the original and more popular characters. With a sufficient or reasonable budget along with a director and writer(s) that understand the material and are also properly skilled in the area of storytelling and directing a theatrical release could be done well. Sounds almost like a dream, but if all these items fell into place we could actually be looking at a great film that might additionally lead viewers to forget the last MK installment.

we need real fatalities in this one. screw a r rating make it adult. the first mk was great the second one sucked more 90 year old balls than anna nicole.

The other two MK movies were like feature length Power Rangers episodes. Hated them. They made a group of legendary characters look so cheap. Sub-Zero/Scorpion/Rain etc costumes were awful, so was Cyrax's. Liu Kang was kinda feminine and both movies were just so hammy it was unbelievable.

If they made a big-budget trilogy spanning MK3 - Deadly Alliance - Deception (skip MK4), with all the over the top gore, proper fight choreography, and a sort of martial arts/horror theme to it, that could work. Won't happen though.

In the new movie I want to see Sub-Zero frezze someone and shatter them and see frozen brain all over the place

I've been a fan since they came out. I'm not afraid to say it. I mean, there are adults here who like the TMNT movies. Nevertheless, I am pumped for this movie, and I will see it when it comes out.

^^^Yeah, and I'm one of those adults who loved all 3 TMNT films (in order of release) and is excited for the new CG one, and I'll still tell you that Mortal Kombat 2 was sh!t.


The first however, was awesome.

Well done, well acted, and well fought. It was the first video game movie where it felt like they got more right than they did wrong.

70% of Mortal Combat 2's problem was no Chris Lambert. The other 30% was the ridiculousness of the movie. The first one was ridiculous too but I liked it, probably because I was a fan of the video game but not a hard core fan. I never owned it, but I played it at my friend's house whenever I went over his house. Plus I was pretty young and I didn't pay as much attention as I do now to the subtleties in acting and plot.
